I never saw a single bee in the traps.

There’s a color aspect and an odor aspect. Must be tuned to wasps.

People have various emotional and other motivational reasons for their

STYLE of communicating.

Guilt by style is not a reliable indicator of much.

Check out the topic at

http://www.earthfiles.com

Linda has done a great investigative reporter’s job with the topic and has been in touch with top notch bee keepres and scientists for many years about it.

The recently outted report documenting a secret study hidden from view until just the last few months is VERY incrimminating about a LONG suspected cause—the nicotine pesticides by Bayer.

There is another factor which seems to multiply the deadliness of the nicotine pesticide. I forget what that is.

Anyway—Almond growers in CA have had increasing problems getting their trees pollinated. This is NOT a small insignificant issue.

This is aggravated by the bee-keeper practice of moving hives from field to field, which not only stresses the bees, it exposes them to more potential sources of infection and ensures that infected colonies spread the infecting pathogens to other fields.

DCBryan1 made a similar observation on another thread, recently. Here is a link to his post, with a short excerpt:

my hives THRIVED during the "die off". I enjoyed being next door neighbors to an OwlGore moron who thought the earth was dying because of my SUV. He just KNEW that we would be starving to death because carbon buildup had killed off all the bees......except mine and everyone in my beekeeping group.

And of course, the bee colony collapse is due to global warming, therefore, the honey shortage brought on the riots in Egypt. :’) Thanks The Comedian.

An old friend is a beekeeper. They make most of their money, a HUGE percentage of it, by wintering their bees in California. Particularly in the almond groves. He told me a while back their bee population is/was down to a third. He may be out of the game now. I know he was seriously considering it then.

That seems to be a pretty common percentage—a third to half or so.

Sad. Very sad.
