I agree with burial at sea. Live burial at sea.

Force feed them a pork sandwhich (so they don't die hungry) and then cut off their feet so they don't hurt themselves by kicking too hard. It's the only merciful thing to do.

We need to bring all these pirates back to the U.S., give them a fair trial and set them on fire.

Our King communists black Muslim occupier of the White House will bring them here and set them free.

OK, someone help me with this sentence.

During the boarding, the Somali pirates fired on the U.S. forces, who killed two pirates and captured 13 others. U.S. forces already had captured two other pirates, and the servicemembers boarding the Quest found the remains of two other pirates.

The article said there were 19 pirates - so who, pray tell, killed the 'remains of two other pirates.'

Sort of looks like possible infighting between pirates doesn't it? Since US forces responded and didn't engage an attack until fires were shot... 4 pirates dead but US taking responsibility for 2 shot....what am I missing here?

This is just heartbreaking.

No it's not. It's the logical outcome when stupid people do really dumb things. I have no sympathy for stupid people!

Furthermore, the families of stupid people should be billed for the services of professionals who end up being dragged into their stupidity. Like the idiots who try to row across the Atlantic, or a teenage girl trying to sail around the globe solo, or mountain climbers, or north pole expeditions, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

Our taxes bail these people out. It makes me wanna puke.

Obama does nothing to help.

That should be a tagline on every failure the “IM”POTUS racks up.

Remember the sign from the Spanish Civil War....”If you tolerate this, your children will be next.”

This must not be tolerated.

Obama strikes again.
This would not have happened it Obama would allow our people to do their jobs in the manner in which they were trained.
Instead Obama and his minions impose “be nice” rules that wind up getting people killed for stupid reasons.
The Navy should have just gone in without hesitation and without worrying about injuring or killing the pirates.

4 Americans are dead; Obama’s Fault !!!

These people were not in Somali waters or even that near to them. The pirates have captured ships and crews simply going about their business of shipping goods. This must be stopped...unless you’re willing to simply hand over a large swath of the seas to Muslim control and pay the price, not only in the lives of sailors of those seas, but in economic terms.

A surcharge that will have to be added to shipped goods and commodities to compensate for raids where the pirates collect as much as $9,000,000 in ransom per ship and are now estimated to have killed numerous crews and collected some $300,000,000 in ransom of people and cargos. They have also started capturing oil tankers and now apparently are considering reselling the oil to other terrorist states.

Before you start blaming the victim, think about the total picture.

And it is heartbreaking. We don’t need any “no-go” places in this day and age, but unfortunately the US and other countries didn’t step in to stop this when it got started and now it’s only extending itself further every day.

imprisoned for life
The problem is life in prison in the US probably beats life in their sh1t-hole country.

They need to become shark food at the scene of the crime. That's a lesson that will attract attention back in the sh1t-hole homeland.

I saw it right away and corrected it in a quick repost but this is such an active thread that it was already 4 more posts down.

But you’re right. Spell check doesn’t correct most usage mistakes. That is the posters responsibility. And here on FR we have no excuse since all posts are auto-previewed.

No, no, no that's inhuman! We need to capture them and then release them like the Russians do. ;-)

you are right on all counts...except we need to go in there and decimate the entire enclave of pirates...just kill them all.....

just because some of our citizens are morons for being where they oughtn't to be (think of those 3 morons who were ‘visiting’ Iraq for a vacation and ‘accidentally’ wandered into Iran....just idiots)....

....does not mean that we are not going to avenge their deaths....

"The Navy should have just gone in without hesitation......."

Obama will be on TV this afternoon stating this would have had the appearance the Navy was attempting to break the pirates' labor union.

“Whoever, on the high seas, commits the crime of piracy as defined by the law of nations, and is afterwards brought into or found in the United States, shall be imprisoned for life.”

This is so wrong on multiple levels, the least of which is supporting their no count sorry a$$es with taxpayer funds for the rest of their days.

F’em, sounds like a prime opportunity to get in a little target practice leaving one alive to tell the tale to his compadres back at home port.

The pirates should not be tried. They should she filmed as they are shot, gutted and thrown overboard. Teh thugs on Razziahs think that if they are caught they can claim asylum in the west. They should become fish food.
We should find their home bases and destroy them, with no thought to the civilians whose economy is based on provided aid and comfort to said pirates. These people understand force.

As for the Americans killed, I feel bad for the families of the Darwin Award winners. These idiots decided to yacht in a trouble area? They think their wealth protects them from reality? Sorry, too stupid for me to care about.
I care about people involved in shipping, not idiots on vanity cruises choosing to go through a pirate infested region.

The guys over on arfcom were talking about what a good bachelor party event the pirate problem could be turned into.

Get a few boats, lots of beer, rail mounted full-auto weapons, and have at it.

They had to sail by Somalia and they knew it. I thought it was obvious I was talking about civilians....and stupid ones.

Pirates vs. international shipping is another story. The problem is with international laws of the sea and the agreements signed. Commercial ships cannot be armed, or fight their way out of bad situations, nor enter ports armed. So, we're hamstrung. We need to dissolve those agreements and train crews to use a stinger missile or two on these idiots. What's the cost of that, versus loss of entire cargo and ship?

We need to get a clunky old freighter, fill it with Marines, weapons, and electronics.....and troll around for a while wiping them out. Make a great movie....Company "X" get's fed up losing ships, outfits a tramp steamer, kicks butt. I'd pay to see THAT movie.
