A well-placed and trusted source tells me that, any minute now, Attorney General Eric Holder will issue a statement announcing that it will no longer defend so-called Defense of Marriage Act lawsuits in court. The source believes DOJ had come to the conclusion that heightened scrutiny would apply, and that these cases cannot be defended in court. A 530d letter has been sent to Congress informing it that, if it wants to defend the statute, it is free to do so. A case is pending now that has a filing deadline of March 11.
This is huge, folks. By definitively stating that gay men and lesbians deserve heightened scrutiny, the Obama administration is declaring that there is no government interest in perpetuating the discrimination aggrieved parties are trying to redress.

Federal laws address illegal immigration, but cities feel free to simply ignore the law, aka “sanctuary city”.
Federal laws dictate drug matters, but cities have medical marijuana.
Now certain administration officially refuse to enforce laws it doesn’t like.

This nothing short of thumbing his nose at the rule of law. In essence, he has unilaterally decided that he is not going to enforce the law. This is the exact same approach that Kalifornia officials took with Prop 8.

I don’t think the American people or their representatives are going to buy into the windmill/solor plans while they see oil getting choked off from the Middle East much longer...... There will be a push now for drilling...and hard in the months ahead...the pressure on Obama will be great...but i doubt the people will tolerate more foot shuffling on the issue of drilling in our own country. We need to do this yesturday....but we shall see...Obama may indeed cry for sun/wind...but I truly think American people are fed up with him and anything he wants.
