Amanda Knox given fresh hope following key witness's confused statement

Knox, 23, is serving 26 years for the murder of British student Meredith Kercher, 21, who was found partially clothed and with her throat cut in her bedroom in the house they shared.

Tramp Antonio Curatolo originally told the court in the first trial that he had seen Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25, by the house the night Miss Kercher was murdered because he recalled "youngsters waiting for buses."

Wow! 26 years for murder and probably half can be wiped out for ‘good behavior’ so a family can see the murderer of their son/daughter at a post office a decade or so later.

I hope she gets off, time served, whatever. She was railroaded right from the start. She would never have been convicted here.

The old drug saying “If you're busted for drugs OVER THERE, you're in for the hassle of your life”. Well if you're busted FOR ANYTHING in Italy, you're in for the hassle of your life. The trial procedures and evidence rules were a JOKE. How can anybody get a fair trial over there?

Personally, I think she is not guilty (maybe not totally “innocent”), but she was railroaded and definitely not proved guilty. Not even close.

Note: I always laugh when a career criminal is proved to have not committed the crime they are in jail for and it is reported that they were found innocent. No, they probably got away with 100 crimes they never served any time for. Hardy INNOCENT.

Oh please. Who did it then? Compared to Obama’s America - Italy is far less corrupt than America. Russia at this point is less corrupt. If this girl was a fat and dumpy then no one would care about her.

Curatolo’s testimony was a teeny-tiny part of the humungous Body of Evidence against the little murderous bitch.

The prosecution also had DNA, motive, fingerprints, etc. etc. etc. Testimony from her co-conspirators which could not be admitted. She is as guilty as sin.

Her parents have oodles of bucks for lawyers and a very very expensive PR firm.

I hope the little slimeball druggie whore rots in prison.

Yeah, I noticed that too, though technically if he sleeps in the same place everynight for years, he’s not a tramp. Tramps are itinerants, kind of like hobos. This guy is, like you said, a bum, or a beggar.

The valid evidence presented in court was insufficient for conviction even in an Italian court. The valid evidence if presented in a us court was insufficient for an indictment.

In the US you are innocent until proved guilty. In Italy you must prove your innocence. Now, which would you prefer?

I would prefer Amanda Knox hadn’t killed that girl.

I wasn’t there, I was commenting on a lenient sentence for murder.

Claiming a false alibi may be normal practice in America. In Italy, it just makes you look guilty.

The Italians always want to believe the most lurid possible story, the one with the deepest, juiciest rumors of conspiracy. These are the people that gave us the Caesars, the Borgias, the Medicis, and the mafia. And I say that as partly one of them.

Read “The Monster of Florence” about the botched investigation of a serial killer in the 1970s, with the prosecutor going off on more and more bizarre tracks involving psychics and satanic rituals, then, when he’s criticized in the papers turning on the reporter and arresting him, accusing him of being part of the conspiracy. And guess who the prosecutor was? The same one in this case.

Dosser, that just sounds so British :)

My boss would call him a “bust-out”.
