This reminds me of a Norm MacDonald comedy bit. I guess the new passages in the history books will go something like "John Smith was a leading figure in the building of California, a contributor to the state's constitution, a civic leader, and, oh yeah, he really liked penis! Just couldn't get enough of it!"
Check out Norm's hilarious bit, from which I appropriated liberally (pardon the word) on YouTube under "Norm MacDonald on Gay Pride;" beware, the language is very rough.
