Somewhere, Dick Cheney is smiling.
An American president, with incomplete intelligence, invades a foreign and friendly(!) power, without its knowledge or consent. Using data gathered from Gitmo detainees subjected to enhanced interrogation the president gives the kill order for a target in a private residence, one where women and children are known to congregate.
And after 22 foreign nationals are captured or killed at the hands of Navy SEALS without any NATO or U.N. authorization the president doesnt apologize for it. He brags about it. Then its confirm that he ordered the SEALS to throw the targets body overboard on their way home.
It was all so violent. So unilateral. So bold. So...Bush.
On domestic issues like debt and taxes, the battle between left and right rages on. But on foreign policy, the fight is over. We are officially in Year 10 of the Bush administration.
Gitmo is still open. Khalid Sheik Mohammed will be tried there by a military commission. Renditions continue, and drones regularly inflict collateral damage into populated areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
And now comes word that Osama got two in the hat from a Navy SEAL who never bothered to read him his Miranda rights. Movement liberals have to wonder if Cheney really is some sort of Darth Vader, using a Jedi mind trick on their beloved Obama.
Barack Obama hasnt become George Bush. Hes surpassed him. I cant imagine W having the testic... er temerity to pull off what Obama just did.
Pakistan is a nuclear power. It has one of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the region. Tensions with India and violence by Islamists keep the countrys military on permanent alert.
And still Obama ordered...

Yes we are.
Obama was able to kill Osama because he knew that no matter what he did, the media and the left would be ecstatic and support him. Bush could never have gotten away with it; he’d be in jail this morning on his first step to some sort of international tribunal for “war crimes,” and the press and the left would be howling for his blood.
BTW, Obama had originally scheduled this event for the day before, so that it could occur in coordination with the Press Club dinner that he attended. Unfortunately, there was bad weather and they had to cancel, so he couldn’t make the announcement then.
He had to wait until the next evening to make his announcement with the 24 “I’s” and only 3 mentions of the military...Actually, can you imagine the media reaction if Bush had publicly taken credit for any US victory, let alone a targeted killing?
Miranda rights...what the F*** are you talking about?
yeah, the libs wont wont to think too much about how this came about. they wont like what they find.
not a problem for them though, they are all about emotion. thinking things through is not their way.

Somewhere? What’s up with that? He makes it sound like Cheney’s gone. Cheney reaction thread here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2713790/posts
The “I”s were a little too much, weren’t they?
With OBL out of the way, what do you think will be the October Surprise?
I have to think they will have to go negative on the opposing candidate. They have nothing else to run on, except of course, ruining lives.
ping for later.
Yes Bush FOREIGN POLICY.
Ofcourse Zero is quick to take credit on this, but still blames BUSH for the lousy economy.
Works for me.
Osama is dead and it’s Bush’s fault.
Yep.
Bush would have certainly ordered this mission. He sent Armies around the world. A small but highly important mission would not be a hurdle.
LOL!
Just because Cheny’s heart doesn’t beat doesn’t mean he’s dead.
LOL! Too true. I agree, I think they will run a vicious, personal and demagogic campaign, where their opponents will be personally smeared and portrayed as "enemies of the people." I think we've had a preview in Wisconsin.
Nice! Unfortunately Obama is still Obama at the end of the day.
Point made in the excerpt.
Kudos to the Military. And kudos to inheritance.
