Obama was able to kill Osama because he knew that no matter what he did, the media and the left would be ecstatic and support him. Bush could never have gotten away with it; he’d be in jail this morning on his first step to some sort of international tribunal for “war crimes,” and the press and the left would be howling for his blood.

BTW, Obama had originally scheduled this event for the day before, so that it could occur in coordination with the Press Club dinner that he attended. Unfortunately, there was bad weather and they had to cancel, so he couldn’t make the announcement then.

He had to wait until the next evening to make his announcement with the 24 “I’s” and only 3 mentions of the military...Actually, can you imagine the media reaction if Bush had publicly taken credit for any US victory, let alone a targeted killing?

Going into a sovereign nation and doing things he said he would never do, could help him win the election, so of course he did it. He probably already has Hollywood working on a movie. Maybe he can get a giant gold statue of himself placed next to the Lincoln Memorial and I'm sure South Dakota has already started on sculpting him next to Lincoln. Didn't he say he was trying to fashion himself as a Lincoln president? Maybe he thinks he can surpass his greatness.
