Former half-term Gov. Sarah Palin has reportedly packed in her bus tour...halfway through.
Real Clear Politics is reporting that Palin and her family have returned to Alaska from their "One Nation" bus tour, despite tentatively scheduled stops in Iowa and South Carolina.

Though Palin and her staff never announced a timeline for the remaining legs of her trip, aides had drafted preliminary itineraries that would have taken her through the Midwest and Southeast at some point this month. But those travel blueprints are now in limbo, RCP has learned, as Palin and her family have reverted to the friendly confines of summertime Alaska, where the skies are currently alight for over 19 hours a day and the Bristol Bay salmon fishing season is nearing its peak.
Palin's intent to visit Iowa and South Carolina, as well as one stop in New Hampshire, caused some speculation that she was starting to get serious about a run for president in 2012.
The bus tour was launched over Memorial Day weekend, and was particularly scrutinized after one event in Boston where Palin badly flubbed the story behind Paul Revere's ride.
Actually you are wrong. Revere tried to scare the British off by claiming that there were 500 men already on site and another 1500 on their way.
Lexington was fought by 75 or so on our side (100 bystanders, BTW) and 700 on the British side. The Battle of Concord was fought by the same 700 British and 500 Militia.
As the British marched back towards Boston, thousands of militia came onto the scene and made it extremely difficult for the British to get back to the Barracks. They suffered 295 dead and we lost 93.

I just finished checking my crystal ball. I have news for all of you.
Within 3 to 4 weeks, Palin is going to announce that she has decided not to run... or, Palin is going to announce that she is running.... or.....
Palin is not late, everyone else has been early.

If the original article is true, then I'd agree, except that above someone referenced Palin posting that she'd just taken a break from the tour, and someone else mentioned why that might be - salmon run and summer business at home in Alaska.

I have no problem with Sarah canceling the Sudan trip.
Sudan is a VERY unstable and unsafe country - even the missionairies are being warned to leave.
Sudan would provide the perfect scenario for a leftwingnut to carryout a death threat to Sarah or her family under the guise of a nation in the middle of civil uprising.
If that were true, why would you plan the tour to cover that period of time in the first place?

Me neither, for the reasons you mentioned. Just thought it was perhaps related - or perhaps not - to the bus tour issue. Lotta discussion on a thread about the Sudan trip of course.
