Decision day is rapidly approaching for Sarah Palin, and for the first time the former Alaska governor has indicated a time frame for when she will make a decision about whether to run for president.

"You know, August and September, you do have to start laying out a plan if you are to be one to throw your hat in the ring, so that's basically the time frame," Palin told Sean Hannity during an appearance Wednesday night on Fox News.

What is Gov. Palin waiting for?

How about right now? That would juice up the race a bit. :)

Getting to be like a girl who kept saying she’d get back to you on whether she’d go out with you.

She’s not running. Bill O’Reilly and “Dick” Morris told me so! And by the way, there I trust she knows what she is doing.

No point to an early announcement. She doesn’t need to build name recognition, and the general public isn’t paying much attention to 2012 anyway. Might as well let the others run around, debate, and spend their money.

She’s turning into Fred Thompson at the speed of light.

Yep. She doesn’t need the Ames straw poll either, so might as well wait.

I hope she gets in, for the sake of what I think I saw one Freeper refer to as the Palin Derangement Adulatory Syndrome crowd. Palin has her supporters, as do the other candidates and potential candidates, but there is a subset of Palin supporters who are almost delusional about it. They may be suicidal if she decides not to run.

Let every conservative who wants to run get in the race, state their positions clearly and IN DETAIL, and then let us get behind the most conservative that can win so that we don’t end up with another mushy nominee like Bush/Dole/Bush/McCain/(Romney).

When she does announce, she’ll be the fresh face.

Just crap or get off the pot already. this reeks of histrionic diva-ishness. touring around soaking up adoration for no particular reason? if she doesnt run, then it seems shes fallen in love with the applause.

btw, i’d vote for her gladly.

Timing considerations aside, she probably still wants to see how it shakes out with Perry.

"....She’s turning into Fred Thompson at the speed of light......"

Nope. Fred Thompson she's not.....this Lady has more charisma and magnetic personality in her little finger than Fred has in his entire body.

Even though their politics are the same, this is the major difference. Besides the fact that she's actually been a chief executive....and Fred never has been.

My take-away was that a candidate would actually need to be IN during Aug and Sept so the decision would have to come BEFORE Aug. & Sept.

I think she will announce between July 15 - Aug 5th.

(I have about a 70% accuracy rate on my political prognostications.)

She’s already made her decision. It’s the announcement that’s going to happen late summer.

Isn’t there something about a July 26th(or so) date where certain potential legal battles in Alaska (that could hamper her candidacy) expire....??

It will be after Labor Day..if Perry gets in she may not run..who would want to clean up after OBAMA...She can still be star of the tea party in 2012...I think she will run..It is really now or never

Plus she or one of her staff has probably been talking with Gov Perry or one of his staff. Despite what some people believe, she is not a seat of the pants operator.

She indicated August or September for an announced decision. IIRC, the statute of limitations for ethics complaints re: her tenure as AK Governor ends 26 July, right? I’m thinking she’s waiting for that to pass first.

She doesn’t want to distract from the Obama debt talks implosion. It’s too delicious.

She may also want to wait and see how titanium Bachmann is
