What is Gov. Palin waiting for?

How about right now? That would juice up the race a bit. :)

Getting to be like a girl who kept saying she’d get back to you on whether she’d go out with you.

No point to an early announcement. She doesn’t need to build name recognition, and the general public isn’t paying much attention to 2012 anyway. Might as well let the others run around, debate, and spend their money.

She’s turning into Fred Thompson at the speed of light.

I hope she gets in, for the sake of what I think I saw one Freeper refer to as the Palin Derangement Adulatory Syndrome crowd. Palin has her supporters, as do the other candidates and potential candidates, but there is a subset of Palin supporters who are almost delusional about it. They may be suicidal if she decides not to run.

Let every conservative who wants to run get in the race, state their positions clearly and IN DETAIL, and then let us get behind the most conservative that can win so that we don’t end up with another mushy nominee like Bush/Dole/Bush/McCain/(Romney).

Just crap or get off the pot already. this reeks of histrionic diva-ishness. touring around soaking up adoration for no particular reason? if she doesnt run, then it seems shes fallen in love with the applause.

btw, i’d vote for her gladly.

Timing considerations aside, she probably still wants to see how it shakes out with Perry.

My take-away was that a candidate would actually need to be IN during Aug and Sept so the decision would have to come BEFORE Aug. & Sept.

I think she will announce between July 15 - Aug 5th.

(I have about a 70% accuracy rate on my political prognostications.)

She’s already made her decision. It’s the announcement that’s going to happen late summer.

She indicated August or September for an announced decision. IIRC, the statute of limitations for ethics complaints re: her tenure as AK Governor ends 26 July, right? I’m thinking she’s waiting for that to pass first.

She doesn’t want to distract from the Obama debt talks implosion. It’s too delicious.

She may also want to wait and see how titanium Bachmann is

She is missing nothing right now by not being in. The others are just grinding away at each other. Palin isn't chewing up money or energy right now.
She has said before that campaigns are too long and she would be different.

Living here in Iowa; I am glad she is waiting. Sometimes it's (the whole primary thing) become too much of a spectacle. Nice to see the process become shorter and more simplified.

Just like we need our government to be.

When the GOP screws up the debt ceiling negotiations, Palin will be there to grab the momentum and use it to launch her campaign.

Fast and furiousGate and Obama’s corruption and watergate thread gets bumped off of breaking news for Palin’s 15th thousandth she may run she may not; turned diva-like announcement? I like Palin’s politics but crap or get off the pot, already. Have a zillion threads talking about whether she will run or not with all of the adoration that has morphed into Palin worship and conspiracies; complete with flame wars against all those that don’t think she has the best executive experience over ALL and Jesus. But is this really breaking news?Especially over GunwalkerGate?

Some pundints have said that late comers to the campaign don’t do well. Palin is the exception. She has been a factor in this campaign already. She has cast a large shadow ever since 2008.

Hence, a late announcement will not affect her at all.
