VERY unusual. Once your earn an award, it is very difficult to have it taken away. We had a Sailor who received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal in the afternoon and that night went out and celebrated and got a DUI. He kept the medal. Of course when the Secretary of the Navy takes it away from you that is allowed.

Kerry does not have to wait.

All his awards were revoked when he was dishonorably discharged. Of course Jimmy reinstated him and them.
This is why he will not open his military records.

If the Navy brass had any guts they would also revoke Kerry’s fake medals and publicize his dishonorable discharge.

“Reporting for duty, sir!” Ha Ha Ha

I knew there was just something totally SICK with that Lurch looking MFer Kerry. I mean, besides the committing of HIGH TREASON during the Viet Nam War.

Did you know that JFnK served in Vietnam?

And that he has yet to release his unexpurgated military record directly to the public?

In 2004, I was shocked, appalled, and enraged that the Democrats -- the largest political party in the country -- would nominate the most vile, duplicitous traitor to run for President of the United States.

And then came 2008...

Why have I never heard that Kerry was a Viet Nam vet? Who knew? I might have voted for him if he had bothered to mention it.

The article says he’s a retired Naval captain. Just curious, does anyone know if a felony conviction gets your retirement benefits revoked? Personally I think it should.

A San Diego veterans activist and Vietnam War hero who served in a senior Navy post during the Clinton administration pleaded guilty yesterday to a federal charge of possessing child pornography. Wade Rowland Sanders, 67, acknowledged in federal court in San Diego that last May, he possessed computer files containing 600 images of minors, including a 21-minute video that depicted girls engaging in sex acts with an adult man, according to court records. He was caught under a 2½-year-old Department of Justice investigation called Project Safe Childhood, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego said.

Authorities arrested him Nov. 7.

In a telephone interview last night, Sanders said he had downloaded the files as part of his research for an article on the sexual exploitation of children in foreign countries. He said his work for the Clinton administration had included aiding victims of child sex abuse in the former Yugoslavia. “I have no sexual attraction to children whatsoever,” Sanders said. “There was no evil intent.” Sanders, a lawyer, said he didn’t realize federal child pornography laws barred downloading or viewing the material even by researchers. He said that is why he decided to plead guilty.

“I thought since my motives were pure and innocent, that would make a difference,” he said. “I’m technically guilty of the crime.”

Sanders pleaded guilty to one felony charge of possession of images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

I am not so sure Wade Sanders should have been prosecuted for having child pornography on his computer. He did claim he was working on a story about abused children.

How do you get a story without getting the facts?

this could be another example of zero-tolerance laws that do not allow for reason.

U-T Editor Claims His Letter in Support of Wade Sanders Was Altered

May 6, 2009

FBI agents are looking into whether a letter written on behalf of Bill Clinton’s former military adviser was doctored. This week, a federal judge sentenced Wade Sanders to 37 months in prison for possession of child porn. KPBS Reporter Amita Sharma has details.

Union Tribune Editor Bernie Jones notified the judge this week that his letter in support of Sanders had been altered. He says he sent his original letter to Sanders.

“In my original letter, I had said to the judge I don’t see any purpose being served by a long prison term. That was changed to any prison term. I did not address in my letter the sex offender status because I was uncomfortable doing so.”

But the version submitted by Sanders to the judge has Jones advocating against Sanders being registered as a sex offender. Jones wouldn’t comment on who he thinks altered the letter. Jones blamed himself for not reading the letter Sanders sent back to him more carefully before he signed it. So did Sanders defense attorney Knut Johnson.

“I would expect an editor of a major newspaper would know to read it and look through and make sure that he agreed with the changes before he signed it and faxed it to me.”

Johnson believes Jones is trying to distance himself from his letter of support for Sanders because of criticism from colleagues. Jones denied that.
