If we have the capacity to pay our bills we wouldn't need to raise the debt ceiling. The truth is, Obama and the Democrats have been on a reckless spending spree. They have mortgaged our future revenues to buy votes while the economy is mired in stagnation from increased bureaucratic regulation.

The credit rating is not going to be downgraded simply because Congress won't authorize more borrowing, it will be downgraded because the prospects of us being able to pay for that borrowing it getting more doubtful given the history of the current administration.

The economic outlook is bleak not because of Republican's refusal to give Obama more borrowing power but because of Obama's refusal to stop wasting our resources.

I don't think they ever were going to downgrade our credit rating. This is more of the Cloward-Piven strategy of creating a crisis so that they can bring down our system.
