House GOP targets the U.N.

House Republicans are planning to introduce legislation Tuesday that will force major changes at the United Nations, an organization that the bill’s author has called a “stew of corruption, mismanagement and negligence.”

The bill, by Republican House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, would require the UN adopt a voluntary budget model, in which countries selectively choose which UN agencies to fund.

The bill is expected to be introduced on Tuesday, and will also end funding for Palestinian refugees and limit the use of U.S. funds only to projects directly outlined by Congress.

An aide familiar with the legislation told Bloomberg News that shifting the UN budget to a voluntary system would encourage competition for funds and better performance from UN agencies.

Two problems:

1) It can't get by the Socialist(Democrat)-controlled Senate with the half dozen RINO's who vote with them.

2) The POTUS will just issue an Executive Order whenever he wants to change the Law.

Is it true that we are powerless to evict this coven of anti-American blood-suckers because the Rockefellers gave them the UN building site in perpetuity? Nothing should be considered permanent if it is supported by taxpayers’ money.

The Islamic states vote as a block and out votes everyone other group. Islam has complete control over the UN.

The bill isn't a bad idea but the UN needs to fundamentally change.

It’s about time this pseudo diplomatic/military ‘sacred cow’ is challenged.

The UN is nothing but a finishing school for corrupt politicos … and a system of institutionalized global fraud and deceit for which the US pays the greatest component and consistently receives the MOST groundless and biased censure.

This article would be more interesting if you replaced ‘UN’ with ‘Congress’, ‘countries’ with ‘the American People’ and ‘Palistinian refugees’ with ‘Progressive groups’.

Agree. The UN should go the way of the League of Nations.

This bill will get sacked by the senate but if the pubbies can force a vote, then there will be one more giant arrow in the pubbie quiver come November 2012 in the senate races.

I don't know how McConnell gets bills to the floor for debate and votes, but this would be a good one.

This Republican vision on foreign affairs stands in stark contrast to that of President Obama’s, which has focused recently on multilateralism and international consensus.

Anything that goes contrary to barry is GOOD!

True or not, it does not mean their water and electricity can’t be cut off in perpetuity.

The Rockefellers have a root connection to the Rothchild bankers in Europe who have for centuries made and broke western nations by revolutions if needed. Soros was a beneficiary of the Rothchilds to start his hedge funds. To get back to the Rockefellers and the UN, this was the modern day Trojan horse.

The United States pays 22 percent of the UN’s regular operations budget, and is assessed 27 percent of the peacekeeping budget.

And what does the US get in return? Nothing.
