Palin Will Attend Iowa Rally After O'Donnell Is Disinvited (Again)
RealClearPolitics ^ | 08/31/2011 | Scott Conroy

After a dizzying day that saw members of her inner circle threaten to pull Sarah Palin's participation in a rally Saturday in Indianola, Iowa, a source close to Palin confirmed to RCP that the former Alaska governor will in fact attend the Tea Party of America event, as scheduled.

"We had some long discussions with the organizers; we talked about our concerns and worked them out, and they stepped up their game today," the Palin source said.

Two sources close to the former vice presidential candidate had told RCP earlier Wednesday that Palin’s involvement in the rally was “on hold,” due to concerns over how the hosts were handling what has been billed as a major event.

“The primary concern of the governor is the people that are coming to this event,” one source had said. “The planners are an issue that’s gotten in the way.”

The organizers caused a stir over the last couple of days when they first announced that former U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell had accepted their invitation to speak at the event before Palin. They then disinvited O’Donnell before re-inviting her to do so.

After Palin’s associates made it known that Palin was reconsidering her participation, the organizers once again disinvited O’Donnell.

An O’Donnell aide told RCP that the former GOP candidate for senator in Delaware had texted Palin to ask about the rapidly developing situation but had not received a response.

While it is clear that O’Donnell’s proposed speaking slot was not acceptable to Palin’s camp, the Palin aide denied that anyone on the Palin team had explicitly demanded that O’Donnell be removed from the speaker’s list.

Palin’s concern arose, the aide said, when an O’Donnell aide suggested to event organizers that Palin wanted the Delawarean to share the stage with her.

Sorry we missed you. My wife and I were in the big tent—man, that sun was hot—thankfully there was a breeze in there.

I didn’t think of seeing you there until that night—I saw one of your posts and realized you were probably there.

Had a nice talk with Glen Urquhart, too, another class act.

The new DE GOP party chair, John Siglar, was also impressive.

Both he and Reince GET IT.

Hopefully, I’ll get to see you and hubby at some event here. I like curmudgeons.

This sounds like a Chinese fire drill. Do these organizers have a clue?

No one but us political junkies pays any attention to this stuff so it won’t impact Sarah. Look how little attention one must pay to actually hate Sarah as millions do. Probably about ten seconds a week. Now some Hollywood Whore’s sex life...well that is worth hours a day.

Christine O’Donnell is not a big name (80% of the people have never even heard her) just another laughable loser.

BTW no one is taken more seriously than Sarah Palin. She has been the principle target of the Left/Media since her nomination. NO ONE has been treated more seriously by our enemy than she. Destroying her has been its total task and it has used EVERY weapon it has to do so.

Whose side are you on? How can you say COD is a laughable loser when Palin endorsed her?

No, they don’t have a clue, but this is the path that Palin has chosen so far. People here have talked about her huge grassroots organizations - well, when you rely on people who aren’t professionals, this is sometimes what you get.

“This is just getting ridiculous. If the orgamizers had bothered to ask Palin, they would have known better. Instead, they did this:

They scheduled CO to speak immediately before Sarah. They said they had “squeezed her in.” That means that they had to take time away from someone else and that she would be the last person on stage before Sarah. THAT was ridiculous. They could have scheduled her anytime, but to choose that particular time was the height of stupidity.”

Why stupidity? Seems a bit like SP wants to dictate who speaks, where and when. Her act is wearing thin. She needs to put up or shut up.

Perry has nothing to do with this and should not be the target of your ire.

This is the work of liars and amateurs.

Idiotic amateur-hour garbage. Great idea to get the press all worked up about this. Stuff like this is an excellent way to divide the movement.

“Palin’s track record is not steadfast.” Compared to whom?

“She says You Betcha to being Romney’s VP in 2012.” Where?

“now she is selling her out because she lost and was alinskyized by the media.” Sarah sold no one out. Apparently, CO had past issues which would have been evident to ANYONE who gave her a critical look. But we know bat-shite crazy people get elected to Congress on a regular basis so I guess no one really cared.

“Palin dissing someone she endorsed does not make her Reagan like or a leader.” 1) Sarah has “dissed” no one in this. 2) Monitoring the nature of the event she is headlining clearly shows she is a leader. There will never be another Reagan so that is irrelevant.

The reason I am a big supporter of Sarah is because she has been standing in the sights of the Left/Media for three years now. Ninety percent of its hate, venom, abuse and lies has been directed at her and her family.

This means it considers her its chief enemy and the biggest threat out there. That makes her my choice.

Is she perfect? No, but she is a good Christian woman with a heart in the right place and an ability to reach ordinary people.

If that happened it was before Perry announced.

I'm bummed I'm going to be out of town and away from the internet when she gives this speech.

If she announces she's running this site will explode into an orgy of idiocy.

If she doesn't announce she's running this site will explode into an orgy of idiocy. And I'm going to miss it.
