After a dizzying day that saw members of her inner circle threaten to pull Sarah Palin's participation in a rally Saturday in Indianola, Iowa, a source close to Palin confirmed to RCP that the former Alaska governor will in fact attend the Tea Party of America event, as scheduled.
"We had some long discussions with the organizers; we talked about our concerns and worked them out, and they stepped up their game today," the Palin source said.
Two sources close to the former vice presidential candidate had told RCP earlier Wednesday that Palins involvement in the rally was on hold, due to concerns over how the hosts were handling what has been billed as a major event.
The primary concern of the governor is the people that are coming to this event, one source had said. The planners are an issue thats gotten in the way.
The organizers caused a stir over the last couple of days when they first announced that former U.S. Senate candidate Christine ODonnell had accepted their invitation to speak at the event before Palin. They then disinvited ODonnell before re-inviting her to do so.
After Palins associates made it known that Palin was reconsidering her participation, the organizers once again disinvited ODonnell.
An ODonnell aide told RCP that the former GOP candidate for senator in Delaware had texted Palin to ask about the rapidly developing situation but had not received a response.
While it is clear that ODonnells proposed speaking slot was not acceptable to Palins camp, the Palin aide denied that anyone on the Palin team had explicitly demanded that ODonnell be removed from the speakers list.
Palins concern arose, the aide said, when an ODonnell aide suggested to event organizers that Palin wanted the Delawarean to share the stage with her.

I can see that happening. It may yet.
bump.
Get used to it. These types of stories give me a big yawn these days. They’ve been doing it for FOUR YEARs. Sometimes you have to rise above. It pisses me off because I LIKE Christine. AND Sarah. I doubt they have any quarrels behind-the-scenes. Though their staffs may.
Fixed.
It is difficult to describe the lead up to this event without using the word “cluster”.
You’re pulling that outta your ass...Crow is a Palin supporter.
‘Hmmm’ is right!
>> “As an avid Palin supporter (check the history out) Im tired of this. She either does, or she doesnt - soon, by damn. Im tired of signs of this and that, Im tired of retreaded polls, Im tired of speculations. Do it or dont do it - get it done if youre gonna do it Sarah.” <<
.
This is exactly how the rumor mongers are wanting you to feel.
None of this has anything to do with Palin’s actions. Anyone with any understanding of election politics should have understood from the start that Palin is running, but will delay the official announcement for numerous reasons.
The source told CNN that O’Donnell aides lied to organizers and said Palin had been communicating via text message with O’Donnell about the rally.
“The governor hasn’t spoken to her in a year,” the Palin source said of O’Donnell.*********
I’m not certain that makes this entire train-wreck sound any better. If Palin is concerned about being associated with O’Donnell they should have simply moved COD up to an earler speaking slot if SP was that concerned. This on again, off again and now I won’t come unless she’s disinvited looks really bad.
Neither would I
No. It is just amateur hour all the way around. Don't try to blame Perry for this screw up. This belongs to the organizer and Palin's team (if she even has a team).
Obama blames everyone else for his own screw ups. Do we expect Palin to follow in his footsteps?
Simple as that and the organizers should have figured it out. I'm no big political operative, on "up" on political wrangling, but even I can see this.
Instead, they did not figure it out and have created a story for the press to lap at where there was none.
Don’t put that on Sarah. Palin has never waivered in her position: “will make decision known late summer/by end of September”. It is the media and supporters/opponents that keep the hype and speculation going. Palin has no control over that. She has her reasons for giving her timeframe and should not defer to others’ demands. It is her life. She will take on the responsibility of her decision. If you trust her to do what is best for the country, then surly you can trust her to what is best in this regard.
I’m not a witch. I’m nothing you’ve heard. I’m YOU.
>> “Given the billing this event had in regards to the possibility of her announcing her intentions, she should have had someone in constant communication with the event organizers from the beginning. IOW, the CO invite would never have even happened if her team had approached this with even a bit of professionalism.” <<
.
Biggest bullshit line of the thread.
When you make an agreement with the key speaker of an event, you do not unilaterally change anything.
This Perry-bot Crow tried to pull a fast one and got his pekker stuck in the door.
Wow, three threads in Breaking News related to Palin excepting or not excepting an invite..? I mean its moderately interesting but 3 thread?
She’s not even a candidate...yet..:)
And you remind me of Lyndon LaRoush
You have a total lack of reading comprehension.
If you had read more than one thread, you would know that Crow is a self-professed Perry supporter.
