Newest 'Project Gunwalker' revelations highlight need for special prosecutor
St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 2 September, 2011 | Kurt Hofmann

Posted on 09/03/2011 5:50:44 AM PDT by marktwain

As National Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea, Seattle Gun Rights Examiner Dave Workman, and Sipsey Street Irregular Mike Vanderboegh have been covering, compelling new evidence strongly points to a deliberate cover-up of the "Gunwalker" scandal, involving at least the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) and the U.S. Attorney's office in Arizona. The (very) short version is that emails between the BATFE Phoenix office and the U.S. Attorney's Arizona office openly discuss said cover-up.

Stonewalling and cover-ups have been the hallmarks of the Obama administration's response to every attempt to get to the bottom of the Gunwalker scandal. From sending hundreds of pages of completely redacted documents in response to subpoenas, to tampering with witnesses, to recruiting friendly mass media outlets to smear congressional investigators, the administration has fought tooth and nail to sweep this festering atrocity under the rug (so much for "the most open and transparent administration in history").

“This seems to be building....I don’t think the admin will be able to ignore it much longer.”

And . . . What if dems worried about the damage 0-jobs-Obama is doing to the party see it as an opportunity to shed themselves of the Loser-In-Chief? Let a special prosecutor be named. Take down Holder and others. Weaken Obama. Open the door for a challenge from within. Blame Republicans. It could happen.

Then I woke up.

Under the Clinton administration the special prosecutor was usually used as an excuse to ignore parallel Congressional investigations. Right now Rep. Issa and Sen. Cornyn seem to be hot on the trail and involving a special prosecutor would likely derail any further real investigations for at least another year.

As Obama's poll # contunue to worsen, the economy stays in the pits, and his chances of reelection look unlikely, that changes the dynamic....some who might be willing to stonewall, or take a bullet...now may not want to do so...

If one posits that Holder is up to his ass in this, and I think he is..the real question is will he resign to stop the bleeding..or will he give up his boss..

You have a good point. It would be Holder, after all, who would name the shill (Oops, the “special prosecutor.”).

Typical dem situation...

They meant well. And it’s only their intentions that matter...

All they wanted to do was pass some new, tougher gun control laws... Outlawing those bad, mean “assault guns.”

All they wanted was to have a couple of photo-ops where the “good guys” would show all the guns sold by American gun stores at crime scenes in Mexico.

Who would have thought that that having the FBI knowingly allow the sale of firearms to known criminals could have led to bad things? Who would have thought that the same government agencies that demanded those gun stores sell guns to known criminals would then try to prosecute those gun stores for selling to known criminals? Who would have thought that having the BATFE allow those guns to go across the border to Mexico and into the hands of the drug cartels could have led to bad things? Who would have thought that those very same drug cartels would actually use those guns in crimes in Mexico? Who would have thought that some of those guns would be used in crimes in the US? Who would have thought those guns would have been used to murder American law enforcement agents?

Anybody with 1/100th of a brain could have figured this out, but apparently, nobody in the Obama administration could have foreseen these things.

So, now it appears that there has also been a cover-up.

But none of it matters, because from the very start, they meant well.

Mark

Thanks for the post/ping, marktwain.

If another post from me shows up on this topic. forgedabout. (Is that how people write "For Get About It ". I used to know but I've forgotten it. Maybe someone can help me out!)

Basically a lot of New Englanders "politicos " regard Perry like a hick....GASP..... He picked cotton, for Heaverns sake.. He has an accent that they don't like and use that against him. They don't want another Texan in the White House; they stuggled when W was president (as if Yankeeland did not have accents, too!)

Anything they think they have on him they batter Perry with no matter how trite it is. They are treating him like he is speaking a foreign language so they have a major bias against him. He went to a cow school....GASP...he went to... GASP... A & M. He didn't go to Yale or Harvard.

He is another Texan and certainly they have to pick on that.

A lot of Yankeeland is prejudiced about the south anyway but particulary Perry right now-especially when he talks about his economic vision.

That is a sore spot for Obama. Obama has ruined America's economy and this affects foreign economy, too.

Obama is a hater when Perry talks about what he would do about the economy. Obama doesn't seem to understand basic economics.

Whatever comes out of the teleprompter on Thursday has been devised by his Tsars, who do not, as Obama does not, understand Capitalism. Or they do understand economics and turn to people who know how to undermine it.

It seems like his goal IS TO ruin America's capitalism. Perry already talks about his vision on the econony; Obama has zip. He probably went to Camp David to hide out about the last economic stance - one new job Is that what the MSM reported?

His minions are working on the state of the economy but they really have zip, too. If his Tares have anything they would be working 24/7 to fix the economy already. They are lost.

I hope that is apparent when Obama speechifies on Thursday. I hope tailgators everywhere are having a rave while Obama speechifies on Thursday. I'll watch and TIVO it, too. I want to see if his speech is transparent and how "progressive" it is.

How's that economic stuff working for you, Obama.

I've got you economy right here.

(If my post is full of misspellings and random thoughts, forgive me.

I'm medicated today and the medicine seems to be worse than the problem - YIKES! So just understand I'm a Freeper first who is kind of out of it today. TIA!) Was it LBJ who declined to run for the presidency because Democrats told him to?
