Earlier, I wrote that the Republican frontrunners wont soon push Newt Gingrich out of the primary debates after his second attack in as many events on the moderators, and heres why. Greg Hengler brings us the clip from last nights debate where Gingrich rips into NBCs Brian Williams and Politicos John Harris for their attempts to create rhetorical mountains out of insubstantial molehills of differences in the policy positions between the GOP candidates, declaring himself uninterested in puffing up attempts to make Republicans fight each other in order to take the focus off of Barack Obama:

Great. If he runs against the moderators, he’s got my vote.
All we need to do is figure out a way to put Newt’s brain in someone else’s body.
Ha! Good one!
It was a win-win for the mods. Muck-up the republican “debate” AND get to be The Story!
I actually thought Newt had a good night, especially when he stated clearly that the only thing that will fix this economy is a repeal of Obamacare.
And I loved when he accused the moderators of trying to protect Obama by having Republicans attack one another.
I’m no Newt fan, that’s for sure, but I thought he stole the show last night. Nobody can deny he is brilliant. Obongo could only dream of being 1/100th as smart as Newt.
An idea that was floated a number of times in the live thread last night was to have him be Press Secretary.
That actually might not be the worst idea. Imagine how he could do if he really was head-to-head against leftist reporters, rather than supposedly debating with fellow Republicans.
Newt was Great!!!!!!!!!! He body slammed the two chump moderators and then turned around threw the Kenyan out of the ring. Newt deserves to get his face on a Slurpee Cup. Great stuff!
He’s a pro.
Unfortunately he needs an army of bellhops to carry his baggage.
Way to go Newt!

He’s clearly the smartest guy in the room. Which, in this world, makes him unqualified to be President (never mind his other baggage). That said, whoever the next Republican President is would do well to listen to Gingrich.
He would be a great campaign strategist.
Gingrich and Cain are both pretty smart, but like you said they have no chance of being nominated :( I would love to see them both in key positions within the Perry administration though.
I am a Newt fan. I know he is not perfect, and I wouldn’t vote for him in the primary, but the guy is brilliant and speaks very well. He’s the smartest sounding of the bunch. Wish one of the front runners sounded that smart.
Newt = Road Runner
Moderators = Wily E. Coyote..
other candidates = Acme Republican Fireworks..
Debate producers = Federal gov’t coyote protection league..
**Note: What idiot planned this fiasco?.. Allowing ONLY MSlsd to be sole TV/cable outlet with truely anal analysis after..
I never did understand why the Republicans agree to let the Democrats moderate their debates.
“He would be a great campaign strategist.”
Indeed. I believe he was the biggest mover behind the 1994 GOP revolution. Too bad that most of that group got coopted by the system and became as bad as those they replaced. It took the 2010 elections to put in some real conservatives....for the most part.
Newt definitely will win the nomination for Captain of the Debate team.
You know, you’re right of course. I think most everyone here at FR would agree that he is the smartest candidate and best debater, but that his political and personal behavior has been terrible since the Contract with America. I will say this, and you will probably disagree with me, but Barry Hussein Soetoro Barack Obama has baggage a million times worse: fraudulent birth story, homosexual, cocaine addict, Chicago street thug and bagman, liar extraordinaire etc., etc. Who would rather have running this country right now? Newt or Barry? Sure I’d rather have Palin running it. But geeze, talk about baggage and the mulatto commie still got elected! Could Newt do worse?
