As the Congressional hearing on the failed solar energy manufacturer Solyndra gets under way, it's already clear that the Obama administration is prepared to fall back on a tried and tested strategy: blaming Bush. In prepared testimony released ahead of the hearing before the House Energy and Commerce committee, the director of the Department of Energy's loans office, Jonathan Silver, emphasizes that the program that eventually granted a $535 million loan guarantee to the troubled firm was created during the Bush administration. Not only that, Silver says,

director of the Department of Energy’s loans office”
Sigh.
Would that someone would say, “the very existence of a DOE loan office is where the problem begins”.
The Bush admin denied the loan in January of 2009. Four months later Obama approved it. End of story.
I’d like to know how they can claim it was the fault of Dubya when he has not been in office over the past two/three years?
Does he have some sort of magic device to kill off Democrat pet projects like Solyndra or something?
Do they even know how stupid they sound?
Oh.

Prezactly! Won’t work, Obozo. Can’t spin your way out of this one.
Obama is akin to the school yard bully, as soon as someone else gets the upper hand that bully whines and says it isn’t his fault. Obama is one pitiful little man. Bush made mistakes but as a man is Head and Shoulders over Obama.
“Bush’s Fault!”
“Wolf!” once again from the finger-pointers who promised to guarantee the mortgage loans
of `dead-beats’ and also promised “tax cuts” to people who don’t pay taxes.
It’s Bush’s fault again?!!!
Why? Because his administration had the good sense to deny these con men any monies from the American Taxpayer?
That dog won’t hunt when Obama’s fingerprints are all over this particular mess.
He did EVERYTHING!
The problem with this approach is that it is pretty easily refuted with a couple of points of factual information:
1. New information disclosed that Solyndra first approached the Bush Administration for a loan. That request was denied during the Administration's final weeks in office.Emails link Solyndra to Biden office (by Bob Beauprez)2. Solyndra ramped up lobbying efforts with the new Obama Administration taking advantage of the billions earmarked in the new President's $800 billion economic Stimulus legislation. Company executives visited the White House meeting with some of the Administration's most highly placed officials. Those visits included four by a principle investor in Solyndra that was also a major contributor and bundler for Obama's 2008 campaign in just two days the week prior to the announcement of loan approval.
So regardless of what else this Obama Administration lackey/fall-guy has to say to try to pin this on the Bush Administration, the Bush Administration REJECTED the loan application for this failed venture, and the Obama Administration approved it despite all analsyis and recommendations after a principle investor and Obama Campaign Croney personally lobbied highly placed officials in Obama's administration.
Not only did the Obama Administration ignore all the warning signs and the advice of their own government analysts, Barack Obama scheduled a visit to Solyndra in 2010 to hail the company as "leading the way to a brighter and more prosperous future."
It's Bush's fault. Bush TRICKED Obama into doing this by rejecting the loan application to begin with.
Who saw this coming, that Dubya is so sneaky! He turned down the solar panel company loan application, because he hates clean renewable energy, polar bears & Mother Gaia, and let Obama—who wants only what’s best for us all—walk right into this one. It’s all just so unfair (weeping)

It seems to me that Obummer would need to climb a tall ladder if he wanted to kiss the small toe of Mr. Bush.
