Racine alderman says he will not resign from office despite assault charge [whips out race card]

RACINE- Racine Alderman Keith Fair faces three charges, including a felony charge that could remove him from office if he's convicted.

Alderman Fair tells TODAY'S TMJ4's Charles Benson there is no way he is resigning from office.

When asked by Benson that he was being targeted because he is African-American, Fair responded by saying "absolutely."

Fair was at city hall for a Common Council meeting Tuesday night, hours after being released from jail.

Fair is charged with hitting and choking a pregnant woman who worked at his bar.

After that meeting, Fair blamed the police and media for his troubles.

"I though it was very biased, I thought it was very police oriented and I thought that it was just a stretch and it was a leap to judgment," said Fair to TODAY'S TMJ4's Charles Benson.

When asked about the Sheriff calling the incident a "brutal attack", Fair responded by saying, "His words were based upon information that he received from his investigators"

Fair mingled with some colleagues during the meeting and called out people in the community that he believes are rushing to judgment.

"This is not the first time that there has been a rush to judgment in this particular city and this particular county as it pertains to minority people," said Fair.

Fair did not over any specifics on why he felt he was being targeted. He says he can dispute a majority of the facts of the case, but says he will wait to do that in court.

All the poor boy is alleged of doing is strangulation/suffocation, false imprisonment, battery and disorderly conduct. The victim was only a pregnant woman.

Of course this is racist, because if he had been a white man, such behavior would have been ignored.

Had his ancestors not been slaves, he wouldn’t be suffering from all of this rage.

Besides, he’s only following the examples given by his heroes, Obama and Holder-—Fast & Furious.

It’s racist to hold Black people responsible for anything.
