Foreign Policy --

Q: What are the three most important foreign policy issues facing the U.S. today?

Rick Perry: “Having a strong economy so that we have the economic ability to have an impactful foreign policy.

We must be able to keep up with our research and -development capabilities in the military.

And our very important foreign policy position must be that our friends know we’ll be there for them, whether it’s Israel in the Middle East or Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, or India in the sphere of influence where China is located.”

Any candidate that endorses nation building should be considered an automatic fail.

Misfire: Romney Ad Targets Rick Perry's Jobs Record ......"The spot's most striking image is a tumbleweed blowing along a deserted Texas highway. That's rich. It's intended to create the impression that Rick Perry's Texas is something of a depressed ghost town. Nothing could be further from the truth. Since the recession began, desperate job seekers have flocked to Texas at a clip of roughly 1,000 people per day. And they're finding work, too. Despite a huge population influx and a bruising national recession, Texas' unemployment rate remains below the national average. How remarkable has the Lone Star State's economic performance been? Read this Political Math analysis (written by a self-professed non Perry supporter), and marvel. One telling data point:

Perry has literally done worse each debate, which if you think about it, is quite a feat.

At least he’s taking it in stride and just laughing it off.

In any event, I wonder what he has planned for the audience this time?

Lets hope he can remember that third point tonight. I can’t bear watching Mitt Romney try to feed him the answer again. That was bizarre. Perry needs to use some notecards so this stuff does not happen again.

How does spending our wealth and our troopls as world policeman reconcile with a strong economy? It's what caused the demise of England and our becoming a debtor nation. Our friends must take care of themselves, we are already broke. Spending money on Americans is not our biggest problem, spending money on the world is. Nation building here, starting now. I like Perry on jobs but on foreign policy, fogitaboudit.
