It sounds like Abramoff is going after Newt.

but then Id love to see what the work looks like that that Newt did....

In Newts defense .....they all do it

maybe the cleanest way to make money after politics is giving speeches

The cleanest way to eliminate all corruption is to make the tax code SIMPLE, and with no loop holes. Then the lobbyists lose their entire usefulness.

Given the continued losses at Freddie Mac, I think Newt should give his consulting fees back. His advice was either unheeded or not worth it.

Newt got the contract because he’s part of the “ruling/political class”

The man did not need to be a money grubber, he had a damn fine retirement, office allowance for life and over a quarter million per year. Some people just do not have sense enough to retire.

Now this is very interesting. When Abramoff was being interviewed on Sean Hannity’s show last week (why, I don’t know), he said that Newt was practically the ONLY politician who didn’t succumb to his bribery overtures.

Now he’s piling onto the “Get Newt” bandwagon?

Ah, the “they all do it defense”. Well that makes it ok, then?

The point with Newt is that he is part of the arrogant and politically elite cabal that eventually allowed a Usurping Marxist to occupy the WH. His arrogance is demonstrated by his explanation of his appearing with Pelosi on a love seat in a pro-global warming ad as “inexplicable”.

The man wants to be US president and can’t [refuses] to explain that idiocy.

"It sounds like Abramoff is going after Newt."

I don't think there was anything about Newt in Abramoff's book in regards to Newt. If there was anything to this I am sure it would have been. He is just picking up on it now since it hit the news. Of course I may be all wrong since I haven't read Abramoff's book.

Not that I'm casting aspersions at Gingrich, but that's not much of a defense for bad behavior, or criminal behavior. The same thing could be said of inmates in a prison. After all, in the defense of a particular convict, they all do it.
