David Frum’s Masquerade as a Conservative
Newsmax ^ | DECEMBER 20, 2011 | Ronald Kessler

Liberal television anchors love having David Frum on their shows. He pretends to be a conservative but makes a habit of bashing them.

The latest example came on Sunday when Frum took a shot at Fox News viewers. Frum told Howard Kurtz on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” that “people who watch a lot of Fox come away knowing a lot less about important world events.”

In a recent New York magazine column, Frum accused the conservative media of running an “alternative knowledge system” of “pseudo-facts and pretend information.”

Frum offered no specifics on CNN to back up his claim, and Kurtz, a solid media reporter, said, “You’re tarring with an awfully broad brush there.”

As noted in my story 'The Five' Spotlights Why Fox News Is a Success,” there are good reasons why Fox News blows away the other cable networks in ratings and is more trusted as a news source, according to polls, than any other television network. One is Fox News’ rule that in any political discussion, both Democrats and Republicans must be represented. In interviewing Republicans, anchors constantly play devil’s advocate and confront them with Democrats’ rebuttals.

Thus, if Frum is right that Fox serves up “pseudo-facts and pretend information,” it comes from the mouths of Republicans and Democrats alike.

Frum has his own history of pseudo-facts and pretend information. In his book “The Right Man,” Frum, a former speechwriter for George W. Bush, weighed in on what he saw as the president’s faults.

Frum and FOX News are deeply in the 'bag' for RINO Romney.

Watch them both twist with disgenuities to pretend otherwise.

Frum and Romney, in particular, ruined the GOP in 2008.

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++8 pts. days prior to September 18th, 2008.
So the RomneyTeam attacked Gov. Palin and her children to throw Election2008.

"Frum was indeed a critic of Palin, calling her nomination a "huge mistake" during an October 13 Early Show appearance."

David Frum: "Two of our most plausible candidates for president in 2012 are leading Mormons: Mitt Romney and Utah governor Jon Huntsman."

David Frum: "I have a lot of regard for Mitt Romney as a man and politician.
Let me say for the record: If Romney emerges as the Republican nominee, I will support him without qualm."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

These guys have a shelf-life, you know.

For example, they don’t even bother trying the label, “conservative talk-show host Mike Smerconish”, any more.

We should start a list like that. Of course there was Zha-Zha (AKA Arianna), David Brooks, Tucker (sounds like Margaret) Carlson, Joe Scar Burro. And now they’re putting Pagan McCain out there to balance out the harrumph-around talking-head tables with a conservative. That will certainly go down the least veiled calumny of them all.
