I know I’m getting a bit long in the tooth (almost 64) but I am pretty sure that when we learned “America The Beautiful” when I was in school, the line was “purple mountains’ majesty” and not “purple mountain majesties.” I’ve heard the latter quite often, notably in the famous Ray Charles version, but I think that the former makes more sense. Any other old-timers out there who remember it the way I do?
Perhaps Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins should have gotten this award 20 years ago, but John Glenn was still a US senator and tainted by the Keeting 5 scandal.
Had no knowledge of her political positions, but the entertainment industry is full of lefties.
Robbie Shankar (spelling?) is her father. I would be cautious about making judgements about Indian's when it comes to politics. They tend to be a bit more complicated than the average Hollywood Leftie.
Boehner posts something and after 23 posts no one has torn the speaker to shreds. Is there hope after all?
