“Since when does a difference of opinion make you a troll. I always thought FR was the place for diverse opinions yet suddenly, if we have any criticism of Newt, we’re trolls.”
Last night a couple of Freepers pinged Jim Rob to ZOT me, for stating the following. “Both Romney and Newt have some serious flaws to be sure, but between the two I would rather have Romney as the nominee, matched up of course with a helluva VEEP yet to be picked.” My opinion and nothing more. That’s worth getting banned for? Sad day on FR if it is.
It's not the first time Mitt put his foot in his mouth.

It is sad. I don't want Romney, can't stand him but I respect your right to support him. Even more discouraging as of late is the hostility from other posters. This board should be a magnet for conservatives who want to share viewpoints and opinions. I've always thought of it like that anyway.
I hope it continues, it's been a valuable resource.
Look, I’ve taken a whack or two myself when I diverged on a criticism of some personality or another who had been annointed on FR. (Even really NASTY stuff, I might add.)
I have the bruises to show for it.
At first I didn’t get it either.
But, what I learned is that if you can never contribute anything positive, ever, to some icon of FR, then you take it somewhere else.
Newt has been more than annointed. He has been ENDORSED OFFICIALLY by FR, so messin’ with the endorsee is like hangin’ out at Newt’s campaign headquarters and whining about the candidate. It will get you canned.
This is simply campaign headquarters for Newt Gingrich.
And I thank God for it. One small corner of the world where at last no milquetoasts are allowed for long.

That happens in combat and when you are the neo-campaign headquarters for Newt Gingrich. He draws fire and so do we, but both are willing to fire back. Kind of nice to have at least one corner of the world that is Lefty free, and sans the bedwetters. :)

But that’s just it, I don’t support him, and I’m not tryin gto sell him on anyone. I really don’t have a dog in this hunt. A lot of us feel that way. The A-Team did not join the race or already dropped out. Where stuck with Jr. Varsity. My opinion is out of the two left standing this delegate favors Romney over Newt.

I feel the same way. I dont see much difference in the way that a Santorum, Romney, or Gingrich Presidency will be run. They will all tinker with some aspect of the government, but nothing transformative and nothing to drastically reduce the scope. So why bother getting into an argument of whose candidate has the best excuses for when they strayed from the reservation.
I do think Romney’s dangerous. Everyone else is saying they’d repeal Obamacare, he said he’d give waivers. That translates to him leaving the bulk of that monstrosity in place.
I seriously think Obamacare will destroy this country if left in place. I know it will destroy our healthcare.

Well here’s one for you...
Conservatives cannot vote for a liberal republican and still call themselves conservatives.
Now, Mitt Romney is buying his way to the nomination but there is only one problem.
Romney has to have conservative votes to get the nomination also.
Here’s the bad news...conservatives will NOT vote for Romney as a block no matter what or how bad Gingrich is.
