Both Santorum and Romney are unelectable. Santorum has already gone hopelessly over the top with extremely radical views that are scaring a large body of regular Americans. (The kind of Americans who are not political, are moderate and are not hard core religious.)

But more so, Santorum has also a phony conservative in regards to fiscal practices, as well as his actual voting record when he was a Senator.

Most all of the things Santorum has been saying, will provide massive amounts of material for the Left to use against him. Add that to the reality that he is not capable of leading the necessary measures to fix the damage this country faces.

In regards to Romney, he is just not to be trusted. He is a plastic phony who even a 5th grader can see through.

I never thought I would ever welcome a Brokered Convention, but after seeing the current leaders (imposter's) and the results of their pasts, I hope and pray that it will happen. It's either that, or I go 3rd party for the first time in my life.

The more I think about a brokered convention, the more I like the idea.

For one thing, it would rob the media of their ability to steer the Obama opposition message wherever *they* want it to go, and (in principle, anyway) restore the ability to frame the anti-Obama message to the opposition party, where it belongs.

Not that the stupid party couldn’t still find a way to screw it all up, but it would give ‘em a fighting chance.

Romney's failure to get conservatives fully behind him . . . is causing angst in the party.

How on earth do they think Romney is going to get conservatives behind him when he failed to do so last time, and when he has such a clear liberal record--including abortion, gay marriage, appointment of flaming activist judges, and all the rest of it?

There is nothing he can do about this obvious record but lie. And his lies are easily exposed.

They just noticed this?

As for Rick's social conservatism being a problem for him, certainly the talking heads will try to make it so. But how do they explain the fact that gay marriage and abortion have never won a popular election, except in sink holes of urban corruption? How do they explain the fact that pro-aborts are forced to lie about what they do, and to pretend to be "pro-choice"? How is it demeaning to women to suggest that maybe they should make their own choices by staying out of bed with predatory men?

Or, if they want contraceptives, maybe they should pay for them, rather than force others to do so. They really aren't very expensive. And if they want to use morning-after pills, they should understand that they are really using an abortificient. That's their choice, but no reason why the federal government should make bishops or Evangelicals pay for it.

“Who would Republicans turn to if not Romney or Santorum? Think of two popular governors, Mitch Daniels of Indiana and Chris Christie of New Jersey, or former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, or even U.S. congressman Paul Ryan, author of a budget plan popular with Republicans (snip*) “

That should finally drive a stake through the heart of the party once and for all. Idiots.

A brokered convention in 2012 would determine the future of the GOP as a viable party.

Choosing a Conservative would point to a viable future
Choosing someone like Jeb Bush would kill the party. With fire.

Ineligible RINO Backstabber:
"In 1995 I supported Democrats.
Then, I so hated Reagan.
THAT and RomneyCARE make ME 'conservative'.”

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn't make any sense at all.""

Knowing the current sad GOP, Daniels and Jeb would probably decline and wait for 2016. The convention may end up nominating someone like Ridge, Pataki, or Bill Frist. In other words, a designated loser who may not hamper their chances of holding the House and winning the Senate.

If there is a brokered convention there is going to be a name put up that NO ONE expects. All in the interests of saving the party of course. The question is WHO?

I am betting on an outsider(Meaning someone not alreading running, because by no means is this person an “outsider” to D.C.)... Jeb Bush. The Buggers who put Oblidiot into power unconstitutionally, have come to realize the magnitude of their mistake (may they ALL burn in hell for all eternity) and will attempt to make it all good by putting in one from the light side of that otherwise dark entity. One of the Bush family.

Am I willing to put money on something like this? No.

But I would not be surprised to see it happen either.

"..... Republicans might have to resort to a doomsday scenario and launch a frantic search for a 2012 savior at their nominating convention in late August. "

Doomsday scenario? Sounds more like a salvation path to me. We very much need someone who's stayed outside the stupid circular firing squad for the past 4 months. Palin, Ryan, or Daniels would have far better chances than the current field, especially if teamed with Marco Rubio

I am a delegate and sometimes, you scream and fight to get support, but you never know what the deals are made before the floor. I think this year, we can say, that we are divided. Each person has flaws tho, Newt has the policy & leadership experience so he's the best (imo) My Tea Party group is struggling about Mitt and or Rick. I will do a write in at this point. Santorum is another Bush(spending overboard politician/he will not win for us-the non Romney vote is backfiring. Rush sticking himself in the race has our side in turmoil. I think Rick was ask to divide the votes but with the idea of the stop Romney campaign, he has began to lead, causing major problems. Newt to Mitt, easy choice.
Media is building up Rick. No vetting. They cannot destroy him now in case, Mitt doesn't come back. Either, we get behind Newt or start pleading for Palin to get involved or pray that Newt goes to the convention. The ruling party just doesn't want reform and a new way of doing things. They don't care to get it that we, the people want reforms and our government to work for us in a more modern efficient way. Newt should bring back term limits to his campaign and promise to fight for it. I don't think we should give Rick the green light w/o proper vetting which is common sense. Each day, it seems we are in the ditch. Pretty soon, people have to realize it's the economy and jobs, we need a economic plan to turn it around while battling a radical president. Newt can address the problems head on at all levels. It will take someone tough as can be to stand up to and beside Obama. Obama (redistribute wealth, make America pay for her sins-Obama) Newt ( traditional American ideas which Obama's side think are extreme-and that's who we are fighting)

At this point the RINO establishment is "$hittin' a show".

Newt Gingrich is the ONLY TRUE CONSERVATIVE and ONLY authentic WASHINGTON OUTSIDER with a legitimate PLAN and SOLUTIONS.

If they consider running Daniels, Christie, or Bush they'd be far better off digging up Wendall Willkie's remains and nominating him.
