SHOCK POLL: ROMNEY 48% OBAMA 43% [Drudge Headline]
Rasmussen Reports ^ | March 10, 2012 | Rasmussen Reports

Posted on 03/10/2012 11:17:08 AM PST by RobinMasters

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19 (see trends).

Looking at Tuesday's upcoming primaries, the GOP race in Alabama is essentially a three-way tie, while Mitt Romney leads by eight in Mississippi. Nationally, Romney now leads Rick Santorum by 12 points. Regardless of who they want to win, 80% of Republican Primary Voters nationwide believe Romney will be the party's nominee.

With the perception growing that he will be the GOP nominee, Romney leads President Obama by five points in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. Today's numbers show Romney at 48%, Obama at 43%. That’s Romney’s largest lead since December. Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update).

First of all, lest we need reminding: the only poll that counts is the one on election day.

Second? Even IF this Rasmussen poll is to be believed, Mitt-Witt theoretically leads 0bama by 5 percentage points, i.e. BFD. That is close enough to the margin of error combined with the usual 'Rat vote stealing tactics to put our Kenyan version of Mugabe back in the White House for as many years as he decides to stay.

Third? The only difference between Romney and 0bama is that (as I've said before) if 0bama is re-elected we continue to have the bottle labeled 'Socialism' poured down our throats against our will as the federal behemoth continues to expand it's power in every aspect of our lives. If ROMNEY somehow managed to pull off a win in November? We still get socialism poured down our throats, except it will be served up in exquisite crystal goblets, as befits a Bishop of Romney's standing.

It is my view that the prime motivation for Romney running for President is to somehow exonerate and avenge his Daddy's loss in '68.

Romney: "Say thar, where can I git one of them grit-eatin' licenses?"

Mitt-Witt is the most fake sonuvabitch to come down the highway in decades.

The Obama Machine? it’s going to be amusing watching the Obama Machine justify high gas prices, fighting against the Keystone Pipeline, real Unemployment Numbers over 11%, record number of Americans on Welfare, and on and on.

"Everyone" knows a caricature of Newt.

If "everyone" has made up their minds about him, why has he lead the primary field at least twice?

Notice the unknown Santorum, the nearest thing to generic Republican left, is only even with Obama. Once he's known, once he's been defined, his support will collapse. Democrats knew how to destroy him in PA with the voters who knew him best. His 18-point loss was the worst for an incumbent senator in over a quarter century.

I don't care what anyone says - Romney, as one of my least favorite candidates, is not even close to as bad or as threatening to our country or way of life as Obama.

I'd vote for Romney in a heartbeat over Obama. Heck, I'd vote for Donald Duck over Obama.

Mitt-Witt is...fake

That's true and it's bad. But what's worse is Obama is REAL and doesn't make any bones about it - he doesn't have to because the media is his re-election committee and apparently there's enough people in this country that think it's cool to elect (re-elect???) a left-of-socialist union organizer as POTUS (Chairman?) of the former USA.

"Notice Gingrich loses badly to Obama. Who’s still supporting this guy besides his crook Vegas bankroller and his lame, dishonest ads? Oh yeah, I forgot, Gingrich will dazzle the nation in debates and everything will change! LMAO! Gingrich almost was invisible in the last 2 debates, but the great debater will win the general election in the debates. Keep dreaming Newties!

You obviously missed the memo on Newt-bashing and trashing from no less than our Founder himself.

I smell ozone in your future chicky-boo.

Crap, crap, crap. So Drudge is the end all of everything politics. Hell, I shook his hand at the ancient "March For Justice" back 1998. I was not impressed.

As far as his polls, they are what they are until the Repub delegates choose. I'm sick of polls.

This is why it is absolutely imperative that Romney be stopped from winning the nomination. Even IF that goofball somehow managed to win the general election, there is no limit to the kind of continued statist behavior he will engage in, no differently than 0bama, except that he will have that '(R)' after his name, and that will provide cover to the spineless and cowardly RINO bastards in the Congress to sign off on any and every kind of unConstitutional abomination that crosses a hypothetical 'President Romney's desk.

Think of the depraved and screwed up progressive bullshit that a 'President McCain' would have enacted as chief executive had HE actually tried to win in '08, and you have a pretty damn accurate forecast for what Romney would do.

If Mitt-Witt ends up as the GOP nominee, in a perfect universe I would dearly love to see the Tea Party come up with an alternate ticket, something like Sarah Palin and Herman Cain. That would cause the GOP elites to crap their pants, golden or otherwise.

This has the earmarks of an attempt to manipulate the R nomination process. By the fall, anybody, including RP, could beat Obamalini. $5 gas is going to finish him.

I hate mittens - BUT BUT BUT BUT

Indes are not afraid of Myth and he is the ‘safe” pick, even if it is ridiculous.

And i am going to say something now that is going to offend people:

Romney looks like the guy many women WISH they had married and will do better than Santorum who looks like the guy women dread they had married.

I know it is shallow and base, but this is the AI electorate we are dealing with.

Exactly!

NOTHING matters until Obama is defeated and sent back to Chicago/Kenya/Saudi Arabia in disgrace.

I’ve finally settled on Newt.

The only reason I had not sooner was because of his ridiculous quotes praising progressives and such policies.

The only reason he’s in this is because he can debate. He can defeat Obama. He can properly articulate conservatism.

People are listening this time. We don’t need a slick empty suit.
