I've been around for more than a while; I consider myself both a Republican and a staunch conservative; and I've never had a more difficult time in identifying "my" candidate for the GOP POTUS nomination. Some of my favorites declined to run -- Barbour, Ryan, Daniels, Palin. Others dropped out early -- Pawlenty and Bachmann.

I like Newt, but it's clear that he can't attract votes in places other than the Deep South -- and not enough, even there. And, sorry -- Santorum makes my skin crawl; a lot of Republican primary voters apparently agree, and I don't want to imagine how many states he'd carry in a general election against Obama.

And now, Romney wins Illinois in a massive rout. Mitt wasn't my favorite; he wasn't in my top ten. But he'll be the Republican nominee. So, now what? Do you vote for a third-party candidate? Abstain from voting for President? Or do you vote for the only person who can remove Obama from the Oval Office?

I'm still quite frankly shocked how big Mittens won by. I have not seen one Mittens sign anywhere here in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

I voted for the most conservative and stand by that vote. I think a lot of folks who were going around blabbing how they were going to vote for Rick changed their minds in the voting booth.

I am not going to accuse people of being really Mitt supporters hiding behind other candidates but when it comes down to Mitt and the worst POTUS in history, a man I met in 2005 one on one and I believe he is the most evil person I have ever met in person. He would stab you in the neck and smile to your face. That is Barack Obama, he is pure evil to the core.

I saw his rise here as Senator, then his rise to con America.

But like I said, I am not ashamed to have supported Rick Santorum, I voted for him, and I would vote for him again. This is just a hell hole state filled with crooks in both parties.

The GOP/DEM establishment in Illinois was in it for Mittens since Day 1.

You can thank the "Illinois Combine" for Mittens win, for further info on the Combine feel free to message myself, Fieldmarshaldj, impy or billyboy.

Us conservatives are going to these races with one hand tied behind our backs, if you don't believe it how did every GOP Candidate win in 2010 but the Governor's Race was stolen, ultimately leading to criminal gerrymandering.

I hate to hell this state!

So, now what?

Since third parties don't win, we need to make the GOP the third party.

My vote will be to tell the GOP it cannot keep shoving RINOS down our throats. It will be 3rd party in all likelihood.

I have NEVER failed to vote GOP, even for McStain and Bush 1. Not this time. I see ZERO difference between Myth and Obama, except that the damage done by Obama will be blamed on the left, not the right. Let it be so.

I will NOT vote for Romney under any circumstances.

Hank

Yep! My sentiments exactly except I’m still not 100% sure Mittens will be the nominee.
