Newsweek names Obama 'The First Gay President'

In a gutsy move, Newsweek has released the cover of their next issue, on the cover of which they depict President Obama with a rainbow halo and the title of 'The First Gay President'.

The news-magazine, which hits stands Monday, is using the shock factor of labeling the straight, married, father-of-two President to draw attention to itself.

Tina Brown, who heads the magazine and it's sister website The Daily Beast, is known for her appreciation of controversial covers to help boost public interest and sales.

As I said in another thread. The GOP got a wrspped gift on this one. Obmama would have been less damaged with a “First Dog Eating President” caption.

Remember what God told Abraham about Sodom? That he wouldn't destroy it if there remained even ten righteous people?

lol. We're getting close... (humor)

There is a used bookstore in my city that sometimes has old copies of Newsweek. I got some from the late 60’s. WOW! That is some excellent journalism. The writing is just stellar.

Both Time and NewswEAK are on life support now. What with the grotesque cover of the attention whore Mommy on last weeks Time...now Barry with the gaylo. Blech. I give them 6 months max until the plug is pulled. Really, who is buying this crap?

What I can't figure out is why NewswEAK did this cover. They are obviously in the tank for The Golden Child...but this cover...it can ONLY hurt him. The gay rumors are rampant on Gore's interwebs...Really, does anybody NOT know that he's on the d/l? So...WHY would they do this cover? Anybody got a guess? I read a comment on a different forum that it was to inoculate Obama for what they think is happening. He's going to be outed big time.

One can hope.

The painting is The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by John Martin, 1852.

The semi-silhouetting of the buildings in the distance against that bright sulfur yellow with the curtain of red that disappears like virago, makes it seem as though we are off-stage, just getting a peek into a scene of unimaginably intense action.

It reminds me a little of a rotten apple and a skull, perhaps a hint of the innocence lost after the Fall, but it also looks like one of those images of a nuclear blast taken microseconds after detonation:

The point is the two cities were judged by God and destroyed with fire for the sin of sodomy. This is a warning. Obama’s legitimization of homosexuality has put our country in danger. That city on fire in the painting could be America.

Your exegesis is faulty. You're attempting to establish a general rule from a single example. If God were going to wipe out human populations because of the sin of sodomy, the entire world would now be depopulated. And on Jesus's relative scale of seriousness of sin, a city rejecting his messengers of the Gospel counts for meriting a greater punishment than what Sodom and the cities of the plain got. The fire will come on the Day of the Lord, the final day of the old heaven and earth's history.

No, thank God:
The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.

But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die. None of the offenses he has committed will be remembered against him. Because of the righteous things he has done, he will live. Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
--Ezekiel 18
