Folks need to settle down.

Romney will win, and he’ll win with the boring campaign he’s running... why?

SIMPLE

This election isn’t about ROMNEY, its about OBAMA.. this election is a referendum on OBAMA, and when you dig into the numbers he’s got zero chance of winning re-election.

Obama is viewed as extreme by 47% of the electorate vs 31% viewing Romney as extreme.. that right there tells you that Romney is going to win and win big.

Obamas only prayer at re-election was to paint his oponent as extreme and scaryier than 4 more years of him will be, and its just not happening nor will it happen.

He can’t top 42-43% of the vote if he handles everything perfectly.

I know we all want to see the republic tear Obama apart and have a strong ideological debate, but Romney isn’t going to do that, he’s just going to run a quiet safe campaign, and watch Obama continue to hang himself.

Romney doesn’t have to “catch fire”... the fire that’s burning is the revulsion with Obama, and its burning brigheter every day. Most folks who are going to vote for Romney aren’t going to do it because they are on fire for the guy, they are going to do it because he’s not Obama. Just like Obama won because most of the folks (with the exceptiosn of blacks and guilty white liberals) voted for him because they were on fire against Bush.

We are looking at a real possibility of a McGovern type election folks where the democrat won’t even pull 40% of the vote.

Cause that's the plan. Sit back and be the pleasant, smiling white guy. Don't do anything stupid or controversial, just sit back and wait for Obama to implode.

I believe you are correct. Romney is following the same strategy that worked well for him during the primaries.

He’ll bait Obama into wasting all his ammunition too early and will then proceed to unleash a massive attack from multiple fronts in the weeks leading up to the vote.

An ideological battle at this point would be a diversion. It’s much better to let the bad economic news dominate the headlines. They are essentially free attack ads against Obama.

Perhaps you will be right, but I am not sold.

122 more painful days and we may know how this ends.

God Save the Republic.....

That is outstanding. Then I am definitely voting for Virgil Goode from Virginia in my state of Pennsylvania. I was only going to vote for Romney if my vote was needed and it seems like Romney has this in the bag. That is more than good news for me as I was going to have to be drunk as a skunk to vote for Romney anyway. I am glad that he is doing well enough that I don’t have to compromise my principles. Thank you for that bit of great news!!!

Hope you're right.

I did not think Mitt would be the nominee and he is so maybe he knows how to win, unlike McCain.

I am not a Romney supporter, but I believe Obama will lose the election and get no more than 45% of the vote.

However, to me it seems that if he refuses to go out for some Touchdowns after the nomination, he will not bring a strong down ticket vote along with him. In other words, if he wants a Republican Senate, he should go all out after the convention?

Yes but we need to vote to get as many conservatives in the house and senate as possible. Even in the local state houses we need to stack with conservatives. That way, whatever happens with POTUS in the future we have conservatives in place for several years to stop nonsense.

I have a gut feeling you are right. It's the same one I had in 1980 at this point in time. Except Carter was up something like 20% over Reagan.

But we have to keep working like it's 46 to 44%.
