Wonder what Mr. Barak's colleagues in the Israeli government think about his opinion and his going public with it. I would not be surprised if there is a difference of opinion. But it wouldn't be an Israeli cabinet without strong differences within.

“Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Monday night that Barack Obama has been the most supportive president on matters of Israeli security throughout the two countries’ diplomatic relations.”

***

What is he smoking? Obama is out to destroy Israel.

This coming from a former Military Chief of Staff and Prime Minister, current Defense Minister and Deputy PM, and the single most decorated Israeli veteran in history. If anyone would know, I'd guess it'd be him. Looking forward to the responses on this forum.

Like John McCain, no one doubts Ehud’s personal courage, and like John McCain his political judgements have been increasingly geared towards surrender and defeat of his own country seemingly based on some vague international promises and standards that terrorists tribes don’t recognize. They both play to the leftist establishments looking for approval with no regard for the innocent that will die because of their own egos.

Obama has done all he can to promote radical, violent Islam and isolate Israel, of this there can be no doubt. Ehud is playing to the Israeli peace at any price sector as he did as PM and as such even when he had to fight as PM he held back.

Goes to show that just because someone is a successful general or military officer that person doesn’t always have the best judgement in areas that don’t have clear rules.

the Obama administration’s support of Israeli defense and intelligence establishments was far greater than under any other administration he remembered working with since and including President Jimmy Carter.

Got it. Say no more.

If Ehud Barak was a member of Likud, his endorsement of hussein might be worth taking note of.

I have no respect for him regardless of his credentials. He has been blinded to evil in the years since he honorably served.

Not so, he famously refused to let Arafat walk behind him at Camp David. (Afraid the guy would try to shtup him from behind!)

Ehud Barak is blind to evil by his endorsement today. He may have recognized Arafat for what he was but is blind to the evil agenda that resides within Obama.

As a rule, most former war heroes are Moderates at best when they retire and enter politics.

They seen so much killing, they feel as if they can now talk peace, even with those who only wish them dead. Besides, they are best at killing their enemies, not talking to them.

Look at many of America’s historical heavy weights in military, if they became politicians, they became wimps.

No, generals should retire and go play poker, not run governments, because democracies need military’s, but they are not military’s.
