Pending other possible federal charges, the U.S. Attorney for D.C. announced this morning that Family Research Council shooting suspect Floyd Lee Corkins II will be arraigned this afternoon on charges of illegally bringing a weapon across state lines and assault with intent to kill:
"The defendant was charged with the federal offense of interstate transportation of a firearm and ammunition, along with the District of Columbia offense of assault with intent to kill while armed. The offenses carry the following maximum penalties: 10 years imprisonment on the federal offense and 30 years imprisonment on the District of Columbia offense. The District of Columbia offense also carries a mandatory-minimum term of five years imprisonment."
Police are still looking into what motivated the shooting, an investigation that could result in additional charges of domestic terrorism or hate crimes. In related news, the Washington Times' Andrea Noble reports that Corkins was found with 50 rounds of ammunition and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches.
The Family Research Council has defended the restaurant, which donates money to conservative organizations that advocate against same-sex marriage.
a few notes.
Free food is what most interns live off of. There are bars, clubs, and other places that offer free or really cheap food that interns flock to. He might have been headed into the office as a CFA employee to give away free food and kill as many eaters as possible.
This guy does not look very smart. I’m pretty sure he didn’t come up with this on his own either. It would not surprise me if he was kibitzing with a few of his friends at the local gay bar, bathhouse, Starbucks or Kramer books and they said “imagine if we lured a bunch of them with free food and just killed them, that would be cool...”
Was the sick bastard planning to lay chicken sandwiches on the bodies or something?
Serve them or eat them? Have you seen the size of that guy?
Which begs another question. If he was going to protest Chick-fil-a think of how much money he just dropped on them.
As I said in another post, I would guess those sandwiches are about $4.50 a piece so that times 15 = $67.5
Yea $67.5 to “protest” something you hate.
They were a “credibility prop”. He told the guard he was an “intern”.
The CFA bag implied he was sent out to get CFA for some “meeting upstairs”.
the age old question...which came first, the chicken or the
insanity?
This sums it up to a ‘T’ - thanks for posting.
I was thinking that, too.
I suspect he became obsessed with Chick-fil-A when he realized hundreds of thousands of conservatives showed up to protest for traditional marriage... And his 'side' couldn't come up with more than a few hundred people - and those that did show up looked and acted creepy...
Even the suck-up press couldn't make liberals look like winners on this one - gay vandalism and hate crimes against conservatives took the wind out of those 'sales'....
had an FRC volunteer gone and shot up the local LGBTQ chapter with a pocket full of General Mills cereal and whining about their opinions, you know it would be “hate crime” front page headlines everywhere.
Ah, I get it - gave him access as well, “I’m here to deliver lunch for the meeting”-—
Anyone know why it didn’t come off? I mean, why would he alert the security guard to the fact that he didn’t like FRC policy? If he was planning to go upstairs and kill? a bit odd....
My guess is that this sicko was going to use CFA as bait. People that were eager to eat CFA would be targeted, while those that avoided CFA would be spared.
Life in prison for this guy.
Just a guess, but I’m thinking that libtard nutjob may have intended on leaving those sandwches behind with his victims, similar to “death cards” used during the Vietnam War. Just my take, but everything about these violent libtard activists, anarchists, revolutionaries, etc. is about destroying anybody who disagrees with their perverted, vile, demented political world view. Of course if this was the case, the corrupt media will never allow it to surface...
Attempt to shoot up FRC - FAIL
Not supporting Chick Fil a before you do - FAIL
Odd the press isn’t making a big deal of the political shooting.
Any guesses as to why?
They are trying to figure out a way to make him look like the innocent victim that was pushed to the breaking point.
Very likely.
Yeah, no doubt that was the plan.
I agree with the poster above who said the sandwiches should be examined carefully. I wouldn't be surprised to find out they were all loaded with rat poison and he intended to distribute them to FRC employees.
From the looks of this criminal, that was his lunch.
