“Why go after the plastic bag manufacturers instead of the litterers?”

Because the majority of the litterers are Rat voting vermin and parasites. Recall the filth after the Obama DC inauguration vs the cleanliness after DC Tea Party rally.

So who does the littering? Why go after the plastic bag manufacturers instead of the litterers?

Liberals always go after the inanimate objects--they want to ban guns instead of locking up gun-wielding criminals, restrict access to marking pens instead of dishing out harsh punishment to graffiti vansals, make it hard for cold sufferers to get pseudoephedrine instead of coming down hard on drug dealers, etc.

And now the incidence of contamination is rising from the use of apparently-clean but actually-contaminated cloth bags. I wonder how much we help the environment by throwing those in the washer after every use? These idiots are running right over us and we're letting them.

I, for one, am glad to see this development.

Because here in Kalifornia we've got all our other problems -- like the budget, which is balanced; and illegal immigration, which doesn't exist; and crime, which doesn't occur; and municipal bankruptcies due to obscene pension obligations, which have never taken place -- all solved.

Manufactures are fleeing the state of California due to the sky high tax rates...EPA regs...and unions.

Bring back paper bags then you morons! They were always more environmentally friendly anyway. Plus they don’t collapse in the back of the car the first time you take a left turn creating a table hockey game of canned goods vs. bread.

We are in Pasadena, which implemented NO plastic bags July 1. I call it ‘The Occupied Territories,’ because right next door they bag in plastic. I visited my sister in Colorado and brought a whole pile of plastic grocery bags home with. I hear you can also order them on Amazon for $20. I often ask for a box for my groceries or bring in plastic bags. I do think there is money to be made or at least a ministry for those who sit in front and pass them out/ sell them for a quarter.

“The government exists to protect our rights, which come from God.” I don’t recall anything about ‘to regulate the citizens’ lives to the nth degree.’

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” — C.S. Lewis
