In an ever coarsening, crude and immoral world, how wonderfully admirable and joyously refreshing! How sad it is that this tale is unique. God bless them with a lifetime of good health, fulfillment, joy, and healthy children, and their staunch guiding principles and Christian faith to withstand an ever imposing fallen culture.

Good for him. With a sound foundation, like this, they stand a good chance of being one of those couples that will have been married 50 years.

It is truly wonderful that he chose to save himself for marriage. I would now encourage him to cultivate his relationship with the Lord in such a way that it leads to love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

My wife and I were married in the mid-1980s and we also did not "consummate" our marriage until after the vows were taken. Almost two years of dating beforehand. However, I wish I could say that we consummated on our wedding night. Fact is, we were both wiped out and fell asleep almost as soon as our heads hit the pillows. I think the wedding reception, the bottles of champagne and all those other drinks played a factor. What a waste of a $300 a night honeymoon suite!
Well, at least we've had the past quarter century to make up for lost time.

Staying celibate until marriage is only impossible for the children of liberals and non Christians. In almost all cases, you will find that the children of conservatives and Christians remain virgins until they are marries.
To: STARWISE
I remember a story from my youth. A couple got married and the morning after the wedding they were eating breakfast when the wife apologized for not getting him a gift. He stopped her to say that they gave each other the best possible wedding gift on their wedding night, their virginity.
That probably sounds pretty hokey today, but I would be willing to bet they had a long, happy marriage.

10,000 cheers for a wise young couple. My wife and I did the same thing back in 1984. Our kids once joked that it was a good thing we found each other because nobody else would have wanted us.
Our kids also decided that saving it for marriage was the best way to go. We have a gorgeous little grandson with two loving parents and a granddaughter on the way who enjoys the same advantage.

Yes, it is sad that it is unique in these last days.
They are believing what God says in His Word in Hebrews 13:4:
“Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
Thank the Lord that forgiveness is offered at the cross of Christ for those who come repenting of this (and all) sins and believing in Him.

Something I've observed...Generally coming from quasi-sophisticated liberals. They look at people such as the author with a knowing, smug smirk and start throwing around words such as "scared of life," "regressive," "strange," and my personal favorite, "sexually repressed."
Waiting till marriage is primitive and outdated, they say...I always wonder why people think that if they rut like animals with a different person every week, they are somehow the more advanced lifeform.
Doing as the animals do, and THEY are the more advanced ones? Gimme a break.
