Republicans in Congress should be putting options on the table to raise government revenues as part of fiscal cliff negotiations, but raising taxes should not be one of those options, Newt Gingrich said in an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV.
The GOP has given up on about 40 percent of the electorate in the last couple of elections, he also said, and needs to focus on inclusion of not just immigrants, but on states where Democrats automatically expect to win.
Every time Democrats negotiate a budget deal that includes tax increases and spending cuts, taxes go up but in most casessuch as with Ronald Reagans tax deal with Congress in 1982 and George H.W. Bushs deal in 1990but nothing is ever cut from the budget, Gingrich explained.

-— Seriously, the Republicans leaders know all this, yet all they do is snivel and promise the very least thing they can, hoping that Republicans and conservatives will let them get away with it.
Grow a spine you wimps. -—
It’s especially infuriating, considering the way Obamacare passed.
I hate to say it, but the situation appears hopeless. Might as well spend $10 trillion this year, default and reboot. I fear a long, dark night.
Since all spending bills are generated in the House, You are absolutely right.
When the number of Latinos had reached such levels in the country, primarily because they were invited in by Republicans as well as Democratic businessmen, because they worked harder and for lower pay than lower-class whites or blacks, then something must be done to accommodate them. Amnesty proved the be a bad things the last time it was tried, but something must be done. The question is what? As for the Asians, how could the Republicans lose their votes? Only by using simple minded nativist language.
I’ll post the truth about FR’s endorsements any time I wish.

Red herring doesn’t work here. My perfection or lack thereof doesn’t change the fact that Newt is a lard-assed adulterer as well as a belt-way RINO who should be ignored by intelligent conservatives.
Romney-Newt-Dole-McCain were and are all wrong.
Republicans like these gave us the abhorrent thing in the White House.
Do you you have any documentation on FR’s endorsements of Newt?
Please provide.
Seems like even Gingrich appears to be stuck on stupid; mesmerized by Hussein's left hand he is oblivious to the sucker punch hidden by the right hand, which has been delivered successfully time after time because stuck on stupid seems to be the GOP terminal disease.
The Takers will promise ALL of their cuts in spending a decade from now with tax increases immediately.
The elephant dummies seem oblivious. Am I going nuts to believe that this is the biggest hurdle to any real compromise? Ever?
Assuming that every member of the GOP leadership is not brain dead!
Free Republic’s endorsements?
God bless you, dearest Patton@Bastogne!!!
And, God bless Newt, Callista and Michael Reagan! Patriots ALL.
Newt was just on some other news outlet telling us that Obama did not win the moocher vote and that Romney was nuts to say so. That’s it for me. Newt and others need to stop attacking each other and work on 2014.
I agree. We don’t have the senate so what’s the point. Tax the Hollywood entertainment fools at 70%. Tax the rich. Let obama own it all.
