I missed code pink’s call for Obama’s impeachment for Fast and Furious. Can someone post a link?

Where have all the Charlton Hestons gone?

They were from a different era, an era of men.

***Running scared the “first time”??? They ran scared in 1968...***

It could have been worse in 1968.

http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=29197

” If guns are to be kept out of the hands of the criminal, out of the hands of the insane, and out of the hands of the irresponsible, then we just must have licensing. If the criminal with a gun is to be tracked down quickly, then we must have registration in this country.

The voices that blocked these safeguards were not the voices of an aroused nation. They were the voices of a powerful lobby, a gun lobby, that has prevailed for the moment in an election year.

—Lyndon Johnson 1968

I’m sorry but anyone begging for more armed government officers is either naive at best or in cahoots to get more big brother established in as many places as possible.

The fact they aren’t arguing against any proposed gun bans cements the fact for me that they aren’t naive.

the solution isn’t more government armed officers at government schools. This is just expanding unionized big brother. the solution is one or more ccw folks at the school, that way idiots don’t know who’s armed and have no idea where the threat to them, exists - or how many threats there are to them.

More kids drown in pools each year than killed by guns.

Guess we gotta pull all the school pools out - you know if it saves one life.

Yup - the Lefties will never be happy until only the people they think should have guns are the ones with guns (like their security details).

Think how much money we’d save if the secret service was not allowed to be armed. Good grief. They wouldn’t need it anyway once they declared the White House a gun-free zone.

Gun free zones magically keep all guns out of them. No need for such lavish, unnecessary protection.

“the solution is one or more ccw folks at the school, that way idiots don’t know who’s armed and have no idea where the threat to them, exists - or how many threats there are to them.”

This appears to be what Texsas will do in the legislature that starts next year. It opens up schools for personnel to carry. Right now, it’s up to school boards to decide.

The NRA is carefully crafting the appropriate response—for now. They are well are that we are counting on them and vice versa. I respect their approach: no “shooting from the hip” so to speak. They are waiting to see what the next step is and will respond with precision on the target that is Obama/Biden.

Government officials are sometimes threatened so they have armed security around them.
Courthouses sometimes are threatened so they have armed security in the building.

Students/school buildings are sometimes threatened and no armed security is allowed.

I would say we don’t care about kids/school buildings.

******************************************************

You are right. Not only that, If we can’t even secure our schools from young “loners reputed to be loony”, how the h*ll do we expect to secure them from terrorists?

Aren’t schools and school buses favorite targets of terrorists? Well they are in Israel, do we think we will be immune? No - it’s coming to a school near us, if it hasn’t already. JMO

Their detectors aren’t entirely wrong. If we don’t keep at them... They may be tempted to “cut bait” like they have before.

They ran scared in 1968...

That's a little dramatic, isn't it? Do the names Harlan Carter and Neal Knox mean anything to you?

So it’s a bit hyperbolic, nonetheless, someone needs to draw the line. The 68 act was a disaster for the second amendment, but I’ll grant you that working in the informational environment then was a lot tougher on our side than for the anti gun side since they had a media advantage not offset by the internet.

HarlOn Carter was the first head of the ILA, Knox worked on FOPA...

Carter and Knox gained power in response to the lack of NRA leadership in the forceful defense of the 2nd Amendment.

Carter was the first EVP elected by members and Knox was appointed the first ILA director.

>Gun free zones magically keep all guns out of them.<

Absolutely. The major difference between critical thinkers and liberals. Liberals completely embrace magical thinking without hesitation.

that old saying - if you’re conservative before 18 you have no heart, if you’re liberal after 30 you have no brains - pretty much describes the liberal mindset well. libtards are people that have never taken the next step in growingup, from youthful idealism to realism and responsibility of adulthood.
