5 years?! Is your friend not permitted entry into her country?

She lives in Vietnam and was told by the US Embassy that the process for a fiancee visa is slow. Mostly because of the illegal Mexicans who skipped the line and using up government resources.

Watching this development. Illegal aliens are not immigrants. They are illegal.

Does he mean immigrants or illegal aliens?

Anymore, that's a distinction without a difference. The inundation from south of the border comes in both forms. To a large extent, the Mexicans with documentation vote in lock-step with the socialists. Their social Conservatism is a much of a myth as their economic Conservatism.

Nearly half of these so-called "Latinos", illegal aliens and otherwise, favor sodomite marriage. Aside from possibly Chile, name one country in South or Central America that can even remotely be characterized as Conservative. Nearly all are corrupt third-world cesspools with socialized medicine, soaring crime rates and all of the ills characteristic of Marxist ideology.

Well, I certainly hope Paul makes a distinction between LEGAL IMMIGRANTS and ILLEGAL ALIENS. If he deliberately tries blurring that line, I won’t have much use for him. His record so far has been quite solid and I do like him, but I can’t deny his father makes me extremely uneasy (and I well recall how a lot of libertarians were promoting wide open borders, at least before the 2007 pushback against Bush’s amnesty attempt).

Embrace “immigrants”? Is Rand going to wear a cool leather jacket while he’s jumping the shark?

I understand it is a slow process. Why is he not marrying her there? It might be easier to bring a wife here than a fiancee. At least they will be together while they wait.

That is a different issue. We do need to reform immigration and make certain it is for the benefit of the Republic. But the invasion of this country by other across the southern border or by overstaying visas need to be addressed separately.

>> Should be interesting to see what Rubio and Rand have to say tonight. << >> I can pre-quote Rubio: AMNESTIA MI COMPADRES! <<<

Here is the basic gist of both Senators upcoming messages:

Marco Rubio, a "Tea party" candidate who is supposedly a "RINO" now, even though his supporters swore up and down he was nothing like Mel Martinez: Democrats spend too much of your money. We in the tea party believe it's time to cut spending and let you keep more of what you earn. Immigrants make a wonderful contribution to America, regardless of their legal status. We're not anti-immigrant, in fact we're gonna let illegal aliens become citizens and give them a pathway to the citizenship if they pay a fine and go to the 'back of the line'. This is not amnesty. And this time we really will secure the borders, trust us.

Rand Paul, a "Tea party" candidate who is supposedly a "true conservative" now even though his dad is looney tunes: Democrats spend too much of your money.

Excellent summary of damn near all of the RINOs (and those wearing the Tea Party fig leaf).

If he doesn’t clarify illegal aliens vs. legal immigrants it just means amnesty.

Who writes these headlines for CNN????

To the tune of 1 million+ per year, we have been, are, and will continue embracing LEGAL immigrants.

What is SO HARD about comprehending the difference between "Legal" and "Illegal"????

He won’t make that clear at all because he is a nutburger just like his dad.
The little acorn hasn’t fallen far from the tree and like his sh!t for bains pater he will make it out as if conservatives have opposed immigration in general rather than unregulated imigration without background checks and self sustaining finances as a requirement.

His little numb nuts followers will still ooh and aah over him.

I support legal immigration.

I do NOT support the status quo on illegal immigration with its open/porous borders, illegal invasion, ruined education, medical and social service budgets, criminals, gangs, and drug trafficking..

There are those politicians and money changers who profit mightily from the status quo.

Doing NOTHING is supporting the status quo. Waiting for the perfect politician with the perfect plan and the perfect Senate and the perfect House and the perfect President, all of whom will advance the perfect plan is an exercise in fantasy. I will personally write a check for $1000 to one freeper or charity of choice when we get a conservative President, filibuster-proof conservative Senate, and conservative House.

It’s not going to happen in the 20-40 years that insurance companies say I have left on this planet. And doing nothing gives us the status quo.

Which I despise, and which is part of what is ruining America.

If he doesn’t clarify illegal aliens vs. legal immigrants it just means amnesty.

I'll elaborate a bit more on a prior post of mine in this thread. Having a piece of paper does NOT, in itself, mean that the immigrant has assimilated. Focusing on Mexicans in particular, it's not only the illegals that are a problem but those who do have the proper documentation. So many of these "citizens" brazenly cling to the country of their heritage, embracing socialism, draining our country with their dependence on entitlements, waving the Mexican flag and speaking Spanish.

Calvin Coolidge had the right approach when he stated:

American institutions rest solely on good citizenship. They were created by people who had a background of self-government. New arrivals should be limited to our capacity to absorb them into the ranks of good citizenship. America must be kept American. For this purpose it is necessary to continue a policy of restricted immigration. It would be well to make such immigration of a selective nature with some inspection at the source, and based either on a prior census or upon the record of naturalization. Either method would insure the admission of those with the largest capacity and best intention of becoming citizen. Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America.

Remember this unforgettable incident from a few years ago at Montebello High School in California?

Well, it wasn't done by illegals! The goons who did this despicable act were just as American as you or I. At least on paper. Of course, the reality is far different. Indeed, the words of President Coolidge, who was greatly admired by President Ronald Reagan reverberate every time I hear a politician of any stripe proclaim that we should indiscriminately welcome immigrants:

Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America.

Sounds like Rand Paul is another Amnesty Liberal

If you cannot commit to deporting Illegal Aliens....you support Illegal Alien Amnesty

Also...anyone who is not emphasizing Americans first....is neither Conservative nor American

Stop the spinning ....stop the BS

Well said and I agree totally as should be evident from my posts in this thread.

If you cannot commit to deporting Illegal Aliens....you support Illegal Alien Amnesty

I was a big fan of Tom Tancredo but he was marginalized as an extremist by the effete wing of the GOP-e.

I'll give my full support to a candidate who wants to restore American greatness by apologetically endorsing and advocating a 21st Century implementation of Operation Wetback, a highly effective program that led to 1,300,000 illegals heading back to Mexico. With our improved technology some 60 years later, I can see 12,000,000 or more illegals gone.

So what do we lack? Simple. The will.
