The professor would then deconstruct the insult logically to show students how to respond to offensive remarks.
What on earth could possibly have been the academic justification for this “assignment”? The whole exercise is reminiscent of Feudal Japan forcing suspected Christians to trample the fumi-e.
And any prof who kicks his student out of class because he or she intends to complain to the administration is nothing but a punk. Deal with it like the professional you’re supposed to be.

This university stepped all over itself in misplaced revenge against a student who voiced concerns over instructor actions that ridiculed his religious beliefs. It stepped all over itself to protect a BLACK instructor, a Black Democrat. It stepped all over itself to punish a student who had the audacity to complain.
This is the Democrat ideology. Racist, Godless tyranny. And, it is the same reason that Obama’s lying, ineptitude and tyranny are being excused all over the Democrat landscape.
Does anyone think he would have gotten a fair hearing if not for the National outcry?

They won’t punish him because they got caught,if this situation flew under the radar you take be sure he would have been punished. The current university system is designed to guide students into proper group think and crush any nonconformists to set an example to the student population.

This instructor should have been fired for this - tenure or no tenure. Our schools are a place of learning alright, learning all the wrong things.
It’s no enough. The racist demon “professor” Deandre Poole - who also moonlights as vice-chair of the Palm Beach Democrat party - MUST be fired.
I don’t understand: why was the student charged to begin with for reporting the Prof? Is it against the student code to report professorial conduct? What kind of wackiness is going on. Glad to see that it’s apparently working out for the student but I can’t understand how it rose to this level to begin with. The student should consider filing a lawsuit.
As I read the lesson instructions not stomping on the paper is an acceptable response. The teacher maybe can’t read.
Afterwards, my TA told me that he had been told that no matter what I did, I would get no higher than a C in the course. I said, "Fine!" He also told me on behalf of all of the other TAs that they appreciated someone who finally put that sanctimonious and arrogant bastard in his place.
I got a "C". I told my major professor why, and he thanked me as well. I had a handy "A" to make up for it. It was well worth it.

As a professor in a state university, I am still baffled as to why this kid got suspended. Considering the rules that I and students have to abide by at my school (which I believe are typical for most higher ed institutions), his behavior just does not amount to a suspension.
