Have you been to the SW states? We have basically been invaded. When I worked on the border we caught mexican troops all the time on our soil. They would scurry back and all was forgotten.
Except maybe Mexico. Their troops accidentally cross the border occasionally.

First, my thanks to all who replied to topic I created on China. Don’t think there will be a repeat of the 1962 India-China War, because war would be stupid. India & China have disputed territory for years. China support North Korea during the 1950-53 Korean War, North Vietnam during Vietnam & so on.
China & Vietnam have long turbulent history going back centuries with the last war between China & Vietnam in 1979. Ho Chi Minh during the French-Indo China War which ended in independence for Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam (divided after 1954 Geneva Conference into N & S. Vietnam @ 17 Parallel) said that he would rather smell French turds for a few years than smell Chinese turds for the rest of time.
With China & India, both nations have nuclear weapons as does India’s enemy Pakistan. China & India are both world superpowers but as China has gotten militarily powerful since 1950, China has wanted Tibet (which they have), Vietnam, India border & Taiwan. The Orient has a long turbulent history. It would be best that China become a dimilitarized nation. Chinese people are fine & the nation is interesting with nice tourist attractions but the politics of Communist China is wrong. @least Russia got rid of Communism in 1989 though Putin has gotten to powerful in dealing with those who oppose him.
Because NO ONE is going to fight back. Who’s going to fight back? Maybe Taiwan - because they have no choice. Asia belongs to China because we are falling apart and Australia and Japan can’t do much with out us and we betrayed Taiwan.
Well that’s true but Bathhouse Barry’s been HHIC (head homo in charge) since 2008 and we’ve had our hands full for 8 years prior to that. I just wonder why all of a sudden I keep reading about China making threatening noises at her neightbors. Just curious.
Yes, I’ve been there. Mexican troops come across the border - by mistake or to escort drug shipments - but they don’t settle.

Unfortunately, such a war would be the only chance we have for a return to the way of life we knew 25 years ago.

If China doesn’t reverse the encroachment why would a war to kick China out be “stupid”?
That's "troops." Millions of their CIVILIANS have crossed our border ILLEGALLY and REMAIN here.

I wrote what I think China is probably thinking in answer to a question. As to your question, my answer is simply this: support our friends, not our enemies — that is, if we must support any country. What would you have us do?
It’s would be much easier for US to wage war against puny neighbors.
Support them how? I'm serious, what would you have us do? Send troops? Threaten economic sanctions? Move the 7th Fleet off the China coast? If India doesn't think the situation is serious enough to warrant forcing the Chinese soldiers out then why should we escalate the issue further? Why not just stay out and let India act in what they feel is their own best interest? Or even better, why not wait for India to request we do something first?
