Breaking: Pentagon Confirms May Court Martial Soldiers Who Share Christian Faith
Breitbart ^ | 5/1/13

Posted on 05/01/2013 9:27:40 AM PDT by Nachum

The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: "Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense...Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis...”.

The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.

(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians--including chaplains--sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”)

Being convicted in a court martial means that a soldier has committed a crime under federal military law. Punishment for a court martial can include imprisonment and being dishonorably discharged from the military.

No one had to. I received baptism long before entering the Air Force.

I on the other hand was shown that I was on the road of destruction and would bust Hell wide open, if I didn’t seek the Savior. By His grace, I received His sweet salvation. I will always be eternally thankful to those men who showed me the truth of faith in Jesus Christ! I spent 24 years in the U.S. Air Force.

Wow! You came late to Jesus. I was baptized at 10 and attended Sunday School until I was 16. I went to camp meetings and heard the hell and damnation sermons until I could quote them verbatim. My Grandfather was a Baptist minister. My Great Grandfather was a minister. Son raised properly in the deep south had no need for religion in the workplace.

I understand where you are coming from. Forgive me for my opinion being tainted. I recognize that and will not consider that in my political voting opinion because personal experience doesn’t always equate to reality on the broader scale.

Time for Christians to honor their commission:

Matthew 28
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Our Commander is Almighty!

Sorry, but I don’t see any of the military brass stepping up to fight for the faith. That makes the senior military leadership just as culpable as Obama.

I’m off to bed early and hopefully we actually get some good news for once, you know like Obama has been arrested for fraud or lying , I know I;m dreaming

If a person is pestering others, then it could prevent harmony within the group. If a guy has merely mentioned that he’s a Christian and proud of it, or has been approached with sincere questions, then I see no problem at all.

Agree with that. There should be no religious proselytization in the military.

No witnessing the Christian faith? But I assume you’re ok with soldiers taking the Lord’s name in vain, ridiculing Christianity and otherwise making faithful Christians as uncomfortable as possible. Why is it that everyone gets a free pass at trashing Christians when every other religion is protected? I thought the First Amendment applied to everyone?

When I went into the Air Force in 1972 I discovered that some of the chaplains were not born again Christians ...

they were officers first

officers who just happened to work at the chapel...

I doubt if they would speak up in cases like these...

The3y were not men of God...,

Those who ignore the meaning of Christianity, ignorantly think the Christian witness is synonymous to an attempt to proselytize.

They also conveniently ignore their encroachment and interference with God’s Plan by their own worldly endeavors.
