GOP May Be Changing Minds on Immigration (GOP Deathwatch Vigil)
ABC News ^ | Thursday August 8, 2013

Members of Congress have been on recess for only a few days, but it already seems the time away from Washington means more support for a pathway to citizenship among some Republicans.

In the past few days, two Republican members of the House of Representatives - Daniel Webster in Florida, Aaron Schock in Illinois - have expressed preliminary support for a way to legalize undocumented immigrants and allow them to eventually earn full citizenship. Even the House GOP whip, Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), announced support for legal status, although he stopped just short of supporting full citizenship.

McCarthy, a big target for pro-groups, also expressed support for DREAMers, saying that for those who came as children, "This is your country. You have no other place to go to."

Next week advocates plan a caravan in more than 100 cities, with 1,100 cars and floats to represent the 11 million undocumented, all meeting in front of McCarthy's office.

GOP May Be Changing Minds on Immigration

Such a headline assumes anyone outside of the GOP conservative base ever actually opposed it.

For a patient enemy, America proves itself to be fairly easy to take down.

The GOP is essentially practicing fascism by facilitating cheap labor for business; a labor demographic that is ultimately subsidized by the taxpayer.

I already made my vow. Amnesty passes, and I’ll never again vote GOP. Big office or small. Never again.

Only way I might wilt from that vow is if either Palin or Cruz get the GOP nomination in 2016. Otherwise, I can abide by my vow without any consternation.

The GOP as an alternative party is done if they capitulate on immigration.
How are they going to operate without any personal donations from individuals.
A new second party IMO will be formed. Maybe the New Republican party (a conservative party).

Both these parties have their nose so far up the culture of Washington. What is radical about getting the government and people under control by living in a budget and expecting results from the teacher's union?

Times a changin folks...

I just sent my GOPe Congressman a new Email saying I don’t do sneak attacks so I’m telling you if you vote for amnesty I’ll actively campaign against you. I actively (very actively campaigned 10 hours a day for the last 70 days of the 2010 campaign. I even worked until 7 PM on Election Day. We pulled him over by 5% and he won easily last year. Next year I will go door to do campaigning against him if he does this.

Nobody in DC is changing their minds. They are just assessing how angry their base will be if they sneak what they want through.

If they think passing this garbage not going to kill them they and their consultants are fooling themselves.

This is from ABC , the liberal media. pure lies

contact Republican congressman and tell them we don't want Amnesty nor any immigration related bill coming out of the House as it will be merged with the Senate Amnesty bill in conference

tell them we don't want tens of millions of new democrat voters that will allow democrats to turn the USA into a socialist/communist state

the media is just trying to get congressmen to think that is what people want, "everybody wants this , so come along".

this is not news , it ‘s political propaganda

Self-destruction is the only “principle” that the GOP strongly adheres to. It is very close to accomplishing its one and only goal.

Remember this could be just a feint from ABC.

But if true, it is awful. Scandals galore in this regime, no real public groundswell of support AT ALL for an immigration bill....and yet the GOP adopts the communist’s priorities as their own. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

So, the rule of law means nothing anymore. When they legalize millions of those who broke into our country, spat into the faces of the Americans citizens who built this country, it will be the end of the governments moral authority to tell us to follow any laws. When Obama refuses to enforce the laws passed by those WE elected, then they reward illegals who broke laws passed by those WE elected, the government no longer has the right to tell us what laws WE should obey.

Love how they talk nonsense. An illegal child has “no other place to go to....”

IF you were say 15 and your parents had taken you illegally to Mexico, Germany, I don’t care where.

When they got caught you would return with your parents just like every child in this world does. No one would expect the other country to pin a medal on you.

It’s preposterous.

If they do it, we will almost certainly have to start up a third party.

The GOP will have become Democratic Party Mark II
