The port of Charleston handles a huge volume of container shipments, it’s something they specialize in and they’re one of the top ports in the nation in that aspect. If any type of nuclear weapon/material were to come in you’ve got to figure it might be in a container shipment, so it’s not too far fetched to say Charleston could be involved.

There may be merit to that idea. It is big enough to matter, not so big as to be a real problem in population loss. Prevailing winds are out to sea so no large footprint. It is a seaport, so they could claim it was brought in that way not up from mexico, no major push to close that border. As far as I know there are no vital national treasures there. If you were going to pick a place for that kind of thing, it has a lot going for it. But foreshadowing it so openly would be too obvious, right? It’s not like they think we’re that stupid and that easily manipulated. ...
