U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States is considering only an “unbelievably, small, limited” strike on Syria as punishment for allegedly using chemical weapons and he insisted military action will not end that country’s civil war.

“We’re not going to war,” Mr. Kerry told reporters Monday after meeting with British Foreign Secretary William Hague in London. “We will be able to hold [Syrian President] Bashar al-Assad accountable without engaging troops on the ground or any other prolonged kind of effort, in a very limited, very targeted, very short-term effort that degrades his capacity to deliver chemical weapons without assuming responsibility for Syria’s civil war. That is exactly what we are talking about doing; an unbelievably small, limited kind of effort.” ...

Anyone trust Mr. “I-was-actually-for-the-war-before-I-was-against-it?”

Yes, and WW3 will be just an unbelievably, small, and limited war.

The identified target has been announced. Obama, drawing on his own vast experience as a leader of a country, has pinpointed Assads golf course to be taken out. Obama declared “This would hurt me the most if it happened to me and I want to send a strong signal to Assad we are wee-weed off at him”.

The more they talk the worse it gets.

It'd be entertaining, if they weren't dragging us to the precipice of WW3 with this nonsense. Obama couldn't have selected a Sec/State who is more globally disrespected and out of his depth.

Of course, it's always handy to have an incompetent scapegoat in that job when the going gets ugly.

"I can't tell you if the use of force in Iraq today would last five days, or five weeks, or five months, but it certainly isn't going to last any longer than that."

--Donald Rumsfeld, November 14, 2002

"I think it will go relatively quickly. Weeks rather than months."

-- Dick Cheney, March 16, 2003

"No one is talking about occupying Iraq for five to ten years."

-- Richard Perle, March 9, 2003

How low can we go? How often can we describe what we MIGHT do, IF we do, WHEN we do and HOW we're going to do it, (hold me back!!!)?

Read below with an Elmer Fudd accent:

Don't worry enemy, our intention is to use military force in such a way as to be totally ineffective. Believe me enemy, this is going to hurt ME more than it will hurt you so...look out, oh gee, I really don't want to do this.

How long can this theater of the absurd continue? Has anybody out there ever seen/heard the likes of what we are witnessing right now?

Kerry sounds like he is making his own policy. Is it official Obama policy that if Syria gives up its weapons in a week, the crisis is over? Does he consult with Obama before he makes these pronouncements. He is clearly frustrated and ambitious. Soon Valerie will be arranging his resignation.
