Administrators at the University of Kansas have suspended the journalism professor who suggested on Monday he would like to see the murder of the children of National Rifle Association (NRA) members.
KU's chancellor, Bernadette Gray-Little, announced the suspension Friday morning, according to (a local radio station, KMBZ.)
"In order to prevent disruptions to the learning environment for students, the School of Journalism and the university, I have directed Provost Jeffrey Vitter to place Associate Professor Guth on indefinite administrative leave pending a review of the entire situation, he said.
Professor Guths classes will be taught by other faculty members," he added.
And on Thursday the school released a statement condemning Guth's tweet.
The contents of Professor Guths tweet were repugnant and in no way represent the views or opinions of the University of Kansas. "[I]t is truly disgraceful that these views were expressed in such a callous and uncaring way. We expect all members of the university community to engage in civil discourse and not make inflammatory and offensive comment
There is no word whether or not Guth will be paid throughout the suspension.
Guth turned to Twitter on Monday in response the a crazed gunmans rampage at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C., in which 12 perished.
#NavyYardShooting The blood is on the hands of the #NRA, tweeted David Guth, who is an associate professor of Journalism at the universitys William Allen White School of Journalism.
Next time, let it be YOUR sons and daughters, he continued. Shame on you. May God damn you.
Liberals across the country were nodding their heads in agreement with the Tweet.
I could say:
#NavyYardShooting The blood is on the hands of the people that promote and enforce #gunfreezones
Next time, let it be YOUR sons and daughters,
Shame on you. May God damn you.
and I would be correct
Not about the sons and daughters, you wouldn't.
You are probably right about staying on the payroll.
A tenured professor on leave, whether administrative or other, just like the despotic Lois Lerner, is on paid vacation!
Oddly, on some things, the guy has come across as almost FReerperish. I checked his blog a couple days ago. The guy does NOT like the Clintons, especially Hillary.
Not saying that makes what he said in the latest incident okay, of course. It’s despicable. I’m just sayin’ the guy surprised me on a couple of things.
True, and you can bet this “suspension” is just for show until the interest in this story dies down. Then the good prof will be reinstated and given a pat on the back. After all, colleges and universities are dens of liberal activism by faculty and his words fit right in with their philosophy.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't liberals been doing that since Roe v. Wade?
“Liberals across the country were nodding their heads in agreement with the Tweet.”
When people are pushed hard enough by the establishment they round up and shoot the academics first; both the far right & far left rightly see them as oppressors when they enter the arena of politics.
These are the ‘nonjudgmental, compassionate’ liberals who want to force their own brand of ‘morality’ down our throats. They would celebrate a Newtown style slaughter of children so long as the children came from the right families. This is a Holocaust mentality and exactly why we need to keep our firearms.

I stand corrected.
I would not wish for the death of anyone’s children. Because the NRA stands up for the rights of lawful gun owners does not make them responsible for the actions of some kook, but the people that advocate for gun free zones do create the environment that make these mass shootings more likely to occur.
He may be one of those kooks for whom the clintons are not far enough to the left. Anyone who tweeted as he did has some serious mental issues and is unfit for the classroom.
The”TOLERANCE”of The LEFT On DISPLAY!!ALL Liberals are”Wannabee TYRANTS”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
