NICOSIA Iran has gained full control of its first nuclear energy reactor.
Officials said the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization was granted full responsibility for the 1,000 megawatt nuclear reactor at Bushehr.
The officials said the transfer was completed in a ceremony on Sept. 23 attended by officials from Russias Rosatom, which oversaw the construction of Bushehr and pledged to provide fuel for the reactor for at least a decade.
But for another two years it will be under Russian guarantee and a number of Russian experts will remain in place to give advice and technical assistance, IAEO director-general Ali Salehi said.
Officials acknowledged problems with Bushehr, inaugurated in 2010. They included a lack of nuclear rods as well as flaws in safety systems. In 2013, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Bushehr had been closed at least twice amid an earthquake near the city.
For his part, Salehi said Iran was also preparing to construct a second nuclear reactor at Bushehr. He said Russia was the likely candidate for the project.
Negotiations are continuing and are well-advanced, Salehi said. Work will start soon.
Help me out here. Aside from money, and influence in the Middle East, which the Russians get, aren’t they at all worried about Iran’s push for the bomb?
Maybe they put a remote ‘self destruct’ switch hidden in there...........
They call that the Chernobyl device kinda like the Genesis device but different
“arent they at all worried about Irans push for the bomb?”
Russia is a theftocracy. Individuals are getting rich. If they’ve thought about a nuclear Iran their plan is to go live in the Virgin Islands when it happens. It’s the rest of the Russians who will die. Putin gets his personal share. He is the richest man in Europe.
Like the US (for different reasons) Russia has no foreign policy.
Thanks for nothing Vlad.
“Russians have no disasters but the very worst.” - old saying
I have a strong feeling that the Russians were pretty horrified at the corner-cutting that went into the plant, mostly graft for the Mullahs and Revolutionary Guard. And when Russians sense something is going to be very bad, it is probably a great idea to bug out.
Seriously, the Russians are probably thinking this:

And we are a kakistocracy (government by the least qualified). People keep telling me to watch the movie "Idiocracy". Someday I'll get around to it.
This may be a theory, but what if we didn’t attack the reactors the whole time because the Russians were present at the facility? If this is accurate, then I really don’t think anything will stop Israel now from bombing them, not even our whiny man-child in office.
The article says Russian personel will be there for up
to two more years.

If you’ve seen the talk about Syria and prophecy, see Edom (not only the original place but paths of Canaanite—Phoenician/Ishmaelite mix of descendants through the northern Mediterranean—Roman Empire, you see—up through the Balkans, Europe, and more recently, the USA).
Fascist policies are a subset of communist policies. Both lend to a hard nationalism based on symbols (instead of good deeds) and a will to conquer. Vanity, coveting, dishonesty and cruelty are outstanding traits.
