I rarely go to a theater, long ago I got fed up with rude children and teens that were never taught by their parents how to behave in a theater. But even worse in the past few years even the so called adults, even the older ones have have pushed me past my limit with their constant yammering, texting and talking on their phones, kicking seats, etc. I would much rather wait and watch a movie in the comfort of my home where a drink and popcorn won’t set me back an extra ten bucks.

Go read a book or listen to one on tape. The books are always better than the movie.

It’s getting harder and harder to feel any sympathy for every whiny little shit with a problem. We’ve all got problems pal and not being able to watch a friggen movie is not one of them.

We saw one of those stupid pool lifts for the first time recently, asking each other, WTF is that thing?

And indeed, no one was using it, at a busy hotel in Hawaii.

I remember a time when our local representatives used to mail us questionnaires about current issues so they would know how to vote. Have not seen one in quite a few years.

Guess they use NSA data now to sift through our opinions..............

A local girls' swim team can no longer compete because they can't afford to put one of those lifts in their school's pool for the handicapped. Because they don't have a lift they're not allowed to compete with any other team in the league.

So rich schools can continue to have swim teams, but poor schools can't.

I guess being handicapped trumps being poor.

I haven't been to a conventional movie theater in 15 years. The last time I was there, a bunch of idiotic teenagers were talking and carrying on as if they were in their living room watching TV. They were rude and totally oblivious to the other patrons. The floor was sticky from spilled drinks and there was all manner of junk discarded onto the floor by idiot patrons.

If there's really a movie I want to see, I buy it from Amazon.com. I don't bother with video stores or places like Netflix. There's far too much Hollywood junk out there that I refuse to view — even if Hollywood paid me to do so.

Because the lifts are so expensive and so large, hotels and motels usually install them in pools, not jacuzzis, which are being filled in with dirt and turned into gardens. The ability to relax in a motel jacuzzi is one more little pleasure that the nanny staters are taking away.

This is intentional. It won’t hurt Hollywood since their preferred method and money maker is the DVD along with digital streaming licensing thruough Netflics and other digital distributors.
