President Barack Obama made it no secret he was a proponent of a single payer health care system in America when he first came on to the national scene. However, he explained to his supporters over the years that a "potential transition" would be necessary to break away from the current system.
Interestingly, as the implementation of the Obamacare exchanges face problems and millions begin to lose coverage from their private insurers, something President Obama promised would not happen, Democrats and their liberal allies are now beginning to suggest a single payer system as a solution to the rickety exchanges.
Rep. John Larson (D - CT) told Breitbart News last Wednesday that under a single payer system Americans would not be losing their private health care coverage, claiming, "You would be covered automatically. But thats not the law. The law is that its a free enterprise system and they have the right not to enter into the exchange or not to provide for you in the exchange. That is their right."
The video below shows clips of Obama explaining to supporters his views over the years about how he would transition a single payer system into the United States. At the same time he criticizes his detractors, saying the Affordable Care Act is not a "government take over" of American health care.

Obama - (SEIU Healthcare Forum) - 3/24/07
"But I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There's going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out.."
Yes, if Obamacare’s a disaster then the only answer is gov run single payer.
Makes perfect sense
Obama is also on tape calling for an END to the “Cadillac” coverage plans.
He said that they are wasteful and lead to market abuses.
He wanted those people OFF of those plans. “Changes” by the insurance companies is NOT the only way to lose your plan.
You can keep your current plan IF it isn’t outlawed.
I don’t see it happening.
The Chicago mob (and the Clinton Crime Family) isn’t ideological as much as they are crony capitalists.
With single payer you eliminate insurance companies.
That would cut out a lot of potential graft and corruption.
“as much as they are crony capitalists.”
Probably, then, a fascist approach where the individual companies exist, but everything they do is regulated by or dictated by the government. That would preserve a lot of the money flows to the “important people”.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Marxist approach: Destroy and Replace. That is what’s goin on .
Does “single payer” means EVERYONE?
Paul Krugman: Death Panels and Sales Taxes is How We Do This
October 29, 2013 by Lennie Jarratt
The following starts at the 1:00 minute mark of the video where Paul Krugman spoke at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C.
“Eventually we do have a problem. That the population is getting older, health care costs are rising there is this question of how were going to pay for the programs. The year 2025, the year 2030, something is going to have to give . Were going to need more revenue . Surely it will require some sort of middle class taxes as well .. We wont be able to pay for the kind of government the society will want without some increase in taxes . on the middle class, maybe a value added tax . And were also going to have to make decisions about health care, doc pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits . So the snarky version which I shouldnt even say because it will get me in trouble, is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this.”
Everyone but congress and Obama and SCOTUS and their families and their staff. Same as always,
Exempting them is a national security issue.
****ing communist bastard.

Bingo!!! We have a winner!
With single payer you can have the system completely managed by government or by individual companies under govt supervision.
Don’t forget Unions...they’re also *exempt*/*grandfathered* :(
If the Dem’s win the House and the Senate in 2014 I guarantee you that Single-Payer (aka Socialist Medicine) will be passed and forced down our throats in 2015 and open borders and unlimited immigration to drive wages down for everyone. I am absolutely certain of this.
the transition period is for the time needed to fullfil the detriminental affects of Obamacare on the private health insurance industry, and the gradual, incremental expansion of who can qualify for one of the government subsidized plans, until the private health insurance industry has been prostrated and most have been forced, inticed, pushed and hornswaggled into one of the government’s plans - that’s what the “transition” is about
Not to mention all their buddies in the big unions who muscled their way onto Cadillac health plans ain’t gonna be very happy about being forced in to glorified Medicaid.
Didn’t they all get “waivers” ?
So am I....................
Obamunism.
