Morton's The Steakhouse, a high-end restaurant chain, is responding after a firestorm of complaints on social media about how it treated a cancer patient dining at its Nashville location over the weekend.
A man undergoing chemotherapy treatments says he was asked to take off his hat because it violated the restaurant's dress code.
Robert Chambers says he put on a beanie to keep him warm --combating the side effects of his chemotherapy treatments. Chambers says a waitress then told him to take off the hat because it was against dress code.
After explaining that Chambers had cancer, a manager came over and asked to see a doctor's note before he could put the hat back on.

you’re an easy read if your comments here are any indication. lol
Left field? Like resenting a business that caters to the upper crust? That’s your position.
I play hard ball, with intentionally provocative statements and analogies -
and apprently that’s insulted a few around here
...
“By definition, chains are strictly working-class.”
Exactly. Morton’s is just a pretentious chain.
And yet, everything you thought you read .WUZ WRONG
The restaurant responded Monday to the wave of criticism. Tim Whitlock, senior vice president
of operations and chief operating officer for Morton’s The Steakhouse, wrote in a statement:
“Our executive team has been in contact with Mr. Chambers who fully accepted our apology.
There was a complete and total misunderstanding by our staff who had no idea that our
guest had a medical condition. Our actions were uninformed and our intentions were not
malicious. As a sign of our sincere apology and commitment to the community, we are
donating on behalf of Mr. Chambers, $2,000.00 to the St. Jude’s Hospital. In addition,
Morton’s The Steakhouse will also partner with Mr. Chambers to underwrite a cancer fundraiser.
“At Morton’s The Steakhouse, superior customer service is our first priority. We appreciate
the patronage of our loyal guests and look forward to continuing to serve the Nashville
community. We embrace our role as an iconic location where generations come to share special
moments and memories.”

Never posted anything of the sort...it seems you use your imagination a lot when you read!!!
“Ahhh! Coercion! “Let me do as I please on your turf or I’ll hurt you.” “
How is that hurting? I mean, if you believe in a free market then you believe we have the right to hear his comments and decide if we will patronize Morton’s for ourselves. Why should any establishment have the right to silence free speech just because they don’t like it?
“You are not Mortons material.”
Morton’s is beneath me, so, no, I am also not “Morton’s material”. I don’t eat at restaurants with average food and pay four times the price for it. That’s just plain stupid.
If any liberal complains about this, I hope they were as caring to (the sickly) VP Cheney when he wore a parka during some outside event.
out of context much?
And they also get to tell you how to dress!!!!
Most establishments have some kind of dress code, even if it’s only “No shirt, no shoes, no service”.
such is life.. unfinished scripts, endless re-writes, outdated menus.. and then the power goes out.
Bon appetit and a safe holiday to you and your’n.
Yes, they do, but they are not entitled to any sympathy when they squeal like stuck pigs when their decisions are made public. They get to squeal but we still get to decide if we eat there.
