A sign on a restaurant door that reads “No Guns Permitted” isn’t likely to turn many heads at most restaurants.

But when the other, bigger sign heralding the name of the establishment reads “Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill,” you can bet a few feathers are getting ruffled.

And indeed that’s one of the biggest reactions since the country music star’s restaurant opened last week in Woodbridge, Va., a Washington, D.C. suburb about a half hour south of the nation’s capital.

The big sticking point is that gun-rights advocates note that Virginia law lets citizens enter restaurants and bars with openly visible weapons;

IIRC, Toby Keith went Hollywood and swore allegiance to Obama in 2012. He’s been dead to me ever since.

This is one of the lesser things about Toby Keith that sucks in real life. He ain’t what people have been led to think. He’s quite an a-—hole.

“A DC suburb”

The metro-cowboys will patronize the place anyway.

In that part of the country all the bullshit is on the INSIDE of the boots.

Toby Keith: Obama isn’t a rock star anymore

Toby Keith was talking politics during an appearance on Joy Behar’s HLN show on Thursday.

“He was such a young rock star two years ago…” the singer said of President Obama. “You know, and now they`ve beat him down.”

“It`s a tough-ass job …” Keith said of the presidency, according to an online transcript. “Have you noticed that whoever takes it in our lifetime anyway, whoever takes the position, it doesn`t take them long to start aging, does it?”

When Behar mentioned that Obama is seeking another term, he replied, “Well, power to him. I`d have to take a pay cut.”

Keith, who described himself as a registered independent, said he approves of Obama’s performance as commander-in-chief but isn’t thrilled with the state of the economy.

“The military part of it has been wonderful,” he said. “The economy, though, because it`s what I`m worried most about — I know our military is going to be good. I see them every day. I worry most about the economy.”

I’ll hazard a guess here.

It’s a private business that has a right to conduct affairs in their best interest.

And you have the right not to patronize said business.

OK. I remember now. He comes out as a registered Dem, supported Obama in 2008, then gave some money to Perry to get people like me to like him again. I wonder what he gave to Prog Super-PACs in 2012?

Still dead to me.

If this restaurant is not already on the VCDL’s list of “gun unfriendly businesses” I’m sure it will be very soon.

“I’ve been a lifetime Democrat”

So there’s no way to tell what nuggets of lunacy lurk within his worldview.

Toby Keith is obviously a low information voter.

Poor Barry. “They’ve” beat him down...

And what’s with “The military part of it has been wonderful...l”?

What planet is this a-hole living on, anyway?

I still watch for the no guns signs.. if i see one, I go somewhere else. Sometimes, if I have time, I’ll go in and tell them why me and my money are going somewhere else.

Funny stuff when fans, (fanatics) worship celebrities, only to find out they are not like them at all, and they actually suck in real life..

Woodbridge, Va., a Washington, D.C. suburb about a half hour south of the nation’s capital.

Problem spotted.

It's time for people to stop pretending DC Metro is just another demographic area/market. Those politicians, bureaucrats, lobbyists, contractors and their ideological brethren have to sleep somewhere and in the New Rome ostentatious displays of political correctness are meant to curry favor with the government illuminati.

The Dixie Chicks are owed an apology. Toby Keith was a big part of their destruction over what they said. Seems to me like Keith has said some things much worse. One said they’re ashamed to be from the same state as the president. The other said Obama is the best thing since Clinton. If I had to choose, I’d be with the Chicks. And I never did like them.
