Fuddy made it out of the sinking plane fine, but died after escaping.
In the water, Fuddy held hands with her deputy director Keith Yamamoto as he tried to help her relax, said the Rev. Patrick Killilea, who consoled Yamamoto after the ordeal.

My guess is that Loretta Fuddy is the fourth person from the right in that photo, with her head sharply tilted toward our right (her left). Maybe she is trying to get water out of her ear.. Still alive, however.

Have they released the autopsy results yet? When they first did the autopsy, they wouldn’t release. They apparently didn’t like the initial results and needed to do ‘more’.

The original news reports said that one of her colleagues was holding her hand as they tread water in their life jackets and then suddenly (!) she was dead when the rescuers arrived.

Yeah, just fell out of his canoe, with breakfast on the table, and drowned. I think Vince Flynn wrote a scene in one of his books of Mitch Rapp pulling some guy off his boat and drowning him, making it look like the guy slipped in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back on board. Happens all the time.
