Didn’t legislation to ban paper bags begin in California, and they mandated everyone go to recyclable plastic bags?

The farms here are littered with the plastic bags, they are all over the place.

Our local store charges 10 cents per paper bag, and they don’t know how to load them like the old days. Nice and square they were, bread on top. Now they just jam the crap in there.

I read once where shopping carts are the filthiest thing in the store. The handles are covered in all sorts of horrible germs, especially those with the fold out child seats, where kids sit in their diapers.

No idea if this is an urban legend or not, but it does make sense.

I am in California and that is exactly what they do now. No plastic bags but they will sell you a paper bag for ten cents.
This is in effect even at the mall if you buy clothes or shoes either you pay for a paper bag or you bring your own. I believe in a few years the price for the bags is going up and they rally want even the paper bags banned it is a joke.
I suppose they want us to carry the food and products we buy on our head like you would see in Africa or an old Tarzan movie.
Besides the bag ban next thing they are going to try is getting you out of your cars they have started in my city. They are pushing bikes and taking lanes away and replacing them with bike lines and no this is not a joke.

Then you’ll soon be like that ‘mecca’ of liberalism, New York City, where they shop nearly everyday in small quantities because they have to walk or use public transportation for the most part. Especially in Manhattan.

California fruitcakes are worried about plastic bags but not worried about taxes.

I remember when they banned paper bags, to save the trees. Now this, it’d be hilarious if it wasn’t so downright idiotic.

Are we going back to paper bags now? heh

First they yelled and screamed about paper bags, pushing everyone to use plastic bags. Then they decide plastic bags are evil and ban them. Noone seems to remember that the only reason we’re using plastic bags rather than paper ones are because of these loonies.

"I'm going to buy a lifetime supply, they are pretty cheap by the 1,000.

Take our own to the market and make them fill them."

Here in Virginia, they want to tax/ban plastic bags now, and that is EXACTLY what I plan to do.

"I go to aldis and carry a denim bag with me. Be creative...make your own...even if it looks like cr**...no one cares.

I have a canvas bag from Barnes and Noble...makes me look like I'm smart. Better than those Gold stars on my forehead."

I'm not playing their little cloth bag game. Not only because of bacteria growth in those things, but because the only people I see with cloth bags around here are Obama-voter types.

"Those bags gotta go. They create a real mess. There is a lot of paper and other plastic trash but nothing stands out or is harder to clean up than those plastic bags."

I couldn't care less.

When I was younger, we had to switch over because we were killing the rainforest and we were all gonna die.. now it’s okay to kill the rainforest again, as long as we pay higher taxes while we do it.

Now, if you want to increase penalties for littering, that’s fine with me.

Now there is a good idea. Don't ban the bags, just require every store to have their name on their bag and fine them $100 for each bag found as litter.

In the tree for over a year.
